the rumors are Muschamp, RR or Lane Kiffin right now; what do you guys think?

Why would Rich Rod leave Michigan for Clemson? Surprised they haven't started circulating Saban's name.

I'm sure it won't happen, but Clemson is probably one of a few places RR could step in and be successful (at least IMHO). Clemson's roster is much more suited to RR's type of offense. At UM, as is quite obvious, that's not the case.

UM probably won't give up on him just yet, but I'm sure many of the fans would love to see him go.

Thank God RR is at UM and not here. It could have been just as bad.

I actually heard Scott Van Pelt talking about this on the radio today. Apparently, the Michigan contract with RR has never been officially finalized.

Now how true this is, your guess is as good as mine.

Maybe the Michigan winters are gonna be too harsh on Rich Rod's wife's hairdo.

Probably another reason your hearing RR is the fact that he was Bowdens OC at Tulane and followed him to Clemson for one year before taking a job at WV.

Rich Rod isn't goin to Clemson....IMHO. Michigan is struggling because it's a new system, young players, etc. This is RR's first year at UM. Success doesn't happen overnight just look at us last year....we didn't look too good.....RR will get UM back on track.

I think Lane Kiffin would be a good fit at Clemson. But, who knows.

RR leaving Michigan for Clemson would be a step down. No coach in his right mind would leave a traditional power house (Bama, ND, Mich, USC, Neb, OU) for a Clemson. Come on.

I know some Clemson fan reading that will think, hey we are a traditional powerhouse. No, you're not! :D

BINGO! RTinGa speaks the real. Michigan is a storied program. Outside of (when was it?) 1982, Clemson has been nothing....ever.

Of the three mentioned, Lane Kiffin is the only one unemployed, and I don't even think Clemson can get him. Look for some D-1 coordinator to get it.

They are not, but they could be. With the right coach, they could put it together in a weak conference.

Dang right....with the right coach, Clemson could Ohio State ourselves (i.e. weak schedule and own a weaker conference) to greatness..

The question I have is how much money is Clemson looking to throw at a coach. Are we talking 3.5Million+? Short of that, they are rolling the dice on potential...and that list is much longer.

Clemson will be a hard sell as they are in a difficult geographic spot for recruiting...against USC (in-state), Tennessee, and Georgia. Who ever comes needs to have recruiting reach, based on their reputation.

If they are spending the bucks, I have to think that they will be looking for someone with an Offensive reputatation, as "W"s and lack of Offense were such big issues this season.

Mike Leach from Texas Tech: Big, Exciting, Offensive tradition. Known to High Schools in and outside of Texas. With Texas, Oklahoma, and Missouri all routinely on the schedule, the ACC looks good.

Jim Levett from South Florida: Solid coach, built USF from word GO. His entire staff has recruited Florida for ten years. Although he just signed a new contract in March, he is only getting 1.5 million. Bama would not have thrown $4M at him, but Clemson now sees what a good investment an elite coach can be (and the draw-backs of a second tier coach). Depending upon the buy out, and the way the season unfolds for the Bulls, he might listen.

Ron Zook of Illinois: Turned UI's program around. A solid coach who might still be at Florida if he had not followed Spurrier. He still recruits out of Florida and has shown that he can Nationally showcase a dynamic player (i.e. Juice Williams). Illinois will not go toe-to-toe with Football mad Clemson in a bidding war, so the door could be open. The only drawback is that he and Bowden have the same hair.

Don't underestimate the pressure to hire a black coach. There is time for that movement to build. With the state holding tough with keeping the Confederate Battle Flag on their state-flag, we should hear something about this in the next few weeks. That coaches name is more likely to come out of the Pro ranks, which I don't know much about.

Muschamp is primed for a HC position, and Clemson would be a place where there is talent, resources, etc. He could get a half decent OC, he would be alright.

You could see him wait till after the season to see how his stock raises with Texas, and see whats available in the SEC.

Phillip Fulmer goes to Clemson.....Tubby goes to Rocky Top.....Kiffin goes to Auburn. Write it down!

TOO MUCH READIN, WRITIN & ARITHMETIC FER ME :P

The best coach out there besides Saban is Butch Davis,
I think they will go in house and take Paul Johnson
DENNIS ERIKSON

WILL SHOULD STAY PUT!
