The Tide sits at 2-0 on the young season. This weekend, we make the trip to Gainesville and The Swamp to take on the Gators. What one thing has impressed you with the Tide this season and what one thing has been discouraging to you? Please list only one so people have a chance to offer their opinion.

Impressive: So far, very pleased with the defense
Discouraging: Punting is a joke, it's almost like we can't have consistency in both punts and place kicks. Hoping we can improve on offense enough so it won't be a costly issue

Impressive - Like others, how active the defense is. I love seeing our guys clogging the middle on the defensive line, the linebackers flying all over the field, and the secondary flying around as well.

Discouraging - The Mercer game. We came out flat, looked bad, and the backups didn't look great from my limited view. I hate these games no matter how you want to slice it or argue it. And there are multiple each year. They don't make us better in my opinion. Backups get to play, but they will also get to play against Southern Mississippi and Mississippi State and such as well.

Discouraging: Chris Allen and Will Anderson's injuries... tough break for Chris and hopefully Will's will not hamper him this season.
He practiced yesterday, 31 did. We'll see a play count depending on down and distance Saturday.

@alabama mike there is nothing discouraging. Disappointing? Yes; the injury to Allen. What a season he could have.

Impressive. Without hesitation, Bryce. B-Rob, great play. Drew Sanders...oh geez. Watch.

Impressive: We've had a stable of Alabama Alpha's QB's the last 4 years. No more game managers.

Discouraging: no question, the injuries. I was really, really, REALLY, looking forward to a Copeland/Curry meet at the QB kinda defense this year. Hopefully Anderson can get back to full speed.

Impressive: How Saban is able to replace such significant losses both players and coaches and stay very competitive.

Disappointing: Run blocking has taken a step back but it was expected. Was just hoping to be pleasantly surprised.

Impressive: Interior DL. They haven't had near the hype or marque players as some other seasons, but Phil Mathis, Young & Eboigbe in particular have dominated. Looking forward to adding Ray to the mix and DJ Dale plays his role well too. Great group there

Disappointing: Nothing to sound the sirens, but thought the OL should have been better against Mercer. If/When Owens gets back over to center, that group's ceiling will raise. Regardless, they'll improve.
