Former players give Nick Saban a gift to honor 10th year at Alabama

What do you buy to commemorate a 10-year anniversary for the five-time national champion coach in your life who has it all?

A golf bag and a personalized golf club, apparently.

According to Alabama beat writer Charlie Potter, that’s what Alabama coach Nick Saban received from a group of his former players over A-Day weekend.



Roughly 40 former players were in on the gift, and they gathered to present it to Saban prior to his 10th A-Day spring game with the Crimson Tide.

Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram shared a photo of the presentation, which happened on Friday night:



The turnout from so many of the players from his past really runs against the narrative of a hardened, unlikable coach that opposing fans sometimes try to perpetuate. It’s clear that Nick Saban loves his players, and they love him back

Saban's persona and his true personality are almost night and day. I've spoken with him several times and he's funny, personable and has a very sharp mind.
