🏈 Mike Shula promoted

Darby up the middle.

We'll see. I'd like to think he's continued to learn over the past half dozen years (I know I have in my work). He's still fairly young, and despite not getting it done here, he continues to build on his NFL experience. If he does well with Carolina, he may get a shot at another HC gig.

I wish him well. Despite sitting through many frustrating games, I never believed he wasn't dedicated to the program, just out of his depth at that time - and as a player he will always be a significant figure in Bama football history (connecting with Al Bell in GA game, and getting Tiffen in position for greatness, etc.)

RTR,

Tim

I appreciate the work he did here as a HC. He came in at a very difficult time and did as well as most probably would have in the same position. That being said, I don't think he was ready for the HC job. I wish him the best and hope he gets another shot as a HC one day.

It was painful to see him as Cam's QB coach, now its even worse... is it possible to wish him well but not Cam? lol They're division rivals so it makes it even worse. Hopefully he does a good enough job that he can get a HC job somewhere else soon lol

When Mike had his hand / foot prints put in the Captain area around Denny Chimes we were there and our son was 5 or 6 years old. I took his picture with Mike and years later when he was named HC, I mailed him the picture and asked if he would sign it. He did and sent it back. I gave it to my then grown son for his birthday. I always liked Mike as a player and tried very hard to like him as a coach but the deck was stacked against him at that time plus he was in over his head I believe. That and he made some terrible decisions hiring some of his assistants. Rader come quickly to mind.

I wish him the best and will always appreciate what he for me.
