📡 Memphis has made a $200M offer to join the Big 12, Ross Dellenger reports🤯

Get market into Tennessee. If Tennessee is much of a market.
They wouldn't be bringing in the TN market: it would be the Memphis market with parts of Arkansas and Mississippi.

It's my understand the Big12 quickly told them no and that's the reason you see the post on X about Memphis and their current conference.

In my opinion, the Big 12 looked at that market and said, "no thanks." They don't want the 'side-effects' that come with their inclusion.

Funny though...Memphis could be as much as Cincinnati....or bunch others in big 12
Other market for bigg 12...Louisiana...LaTech or Louisiana....
But does it bring big 12 up. Or ...down.
If ur a mid major...time to escalate ur program ( see Texas state)
That’s assuming that Memphis has a big following and that Tennessee, Arkansas and Vanderbilt fans would switch — they won’t. Memphis has periodically had a good basketball program but they haven’t done anything in football. A successful year for them is making it to the Weedeater Bowl.

Last i heard. Memphis is still part of Tennessee.....( we dont claim them though...Arkansas n Mississippi can have them)
You live there and don't understand there is a HUGE divide between E and W TN? Shit...you gotta get as far out and away from MPHS as Johnson City before you remember you are IN TN.

That state could be divided into thirds. For certain, Memphis is like no other portion of that state. Hell, Chatt and Nashville are polar opposites.

Agree. We really even get Memphis news unless its another killing. But still has a big say on state politics and events. Most time.... unfortunately.

Went to UT Martin. So several of my free weekends were in Memphis. My girlfriend and I got lost one night stopped at a red light for like 5 minutes to get re-oriented and check a Memphis map booklet. Got back to her mom’s house, watched the news and there was a killing at that corner probably 25-30 mins after we were there!!! So I was careful and really avoided a lot of Memphis after that. This was in 1990, I’m sure it’s only gotten worse.
