Optimus……..you were reading my mind.

Al DelGreco practically bleeds orange and blue and I can’t bring myself to put faith in ANYTHING he says (good, bad or otherwise) regarding Alabama. If the rumor is false, it’s just his way of playing on the “Saban leaving Miami” situation to hurt our (at this point) great potential for signing day (and/or defelect away from the Arky situation). A sneaky, underhanded tactic on the most part, but in some cases, highly effective.

And my humble opinion, for whatever it’s worth:

I hope Tubs stays at AU. He’s found a home there after 9 years. Although, now would be a perfect opportunity to leave AU high and dry in retaliation to the JetGate episode. That would be a great Middle Finger to the admin at AU. It probably won’t happen and I do hope he stays.

If the rumor is true and Saban goes back to LSU, then so be it. If he is willing to return to a fanbase that has (on the whole) compared him to Satan and sported “Nick the D**K” shirts and bumper stickers (among other things), then he belongs there. He is not in line with the overall CLASS that is Alabama. If he chooses to return to that after being welcomed at UA with open arms, well then good riddance.

It reminds me of an old saying: Faith is the ability not to panic. I have faith. I will not panic.

Thanks for the thread MERGE.

JMHO!

Great post Optimus.

While the post loss venting is going to happen, the constant rumor mill threads get tiresome to read and largely get ignored after awhile.

I know that Ive been excited about Alabama football for the first time in a long time. While Ive been a fan my entire life, there has been a distinct lack of things to be excited about in the past 4-5 years. CNS brought some fire back to our fanbase, for better or for worse. And while the season surely didnt end how we wanted it, our record is not far off from what we realistically expected to happen. I have watched some of the most exciting games Ive ever seen from a Bama team, and the country and seen great games this year from the SEC as a whole.

So...here's to the future of Bama football and the continuing trend of people being more and more afraid to play the Tide.
