Stranger things have happened, like when that Iowa State fan claimed that their coach was going to be tanked but would somehow get a job in the SEC.

My thought would be to ask WHERE. Who out there has a slot open and which has been open long enough to have convinced McElwain to take the job?

Lately with internet rumors regarding Alabama 99% seem to be true with 1% false. With other schools it's the other way around - 99% false, 1% true.

Even with that said I'm not too worried about this one. Nothing much shocks me, but I'm thinking this rumor is the 1% kind for us.

This rumor appears to be the Aubarn board's last ditch effort in recruiting this year. It seems like this time last year they put out a nice rumor in an effort to derail our recruiting... I don't think it worked.

On the PF show (I know) a caller called in on this rumor. PF seems to think it could be coming out of UT from LT.

Either way, it looks like someone trying some desperate tactics to steer the recruits as the last week closes in. Rumors always run wild this close to NSD.

They're just using Finebaum. He has an open forum and it helps to give the rumor legs.

1. Make it up
2. Put it on the internet
3. Call in Finebaum
4. Go back to internet and repackage as "heard on Finebaum"
