In Kirby's case the conversations weren't about leaving for a HC position following 2015 but 2016 due to being vested in the retirement system.
@TerryP , Suttles tweeted this a few weeks ago and here was my thinking then: If he gets a head coaching job that is going to pay him $4 + million per year, why is he worried about needing one more year before being vested in the state's retirement system? And especially if he plans on coming back to UA down the road.
Of course I'm thinking out my ass here, I don't have any idea how much being vested in the state's retirement system is worth. It might be worth it to him to pass up an opportunity to leave but I doubt it.
