🏈 🔎 Lookin ahead to Indiana (DeBoer Rose Bowl press conference.)

It was definitely a MASH unit that we trotted out there against UGA.
TI-R posted a few minutes ago that a national championship coach we all know and respect had watched the all-22 and wouldn't trade a IU player for one from Bama. Said coach said he was expecting Bama to get pressure: other's have. Said WR's advantage UA...

One area where Alabama has an advantage: experience. Specifically bowl game experience.

When was the last time Indiana had such a high level of exposure in a big time game? When was the last time they played in a big bowl game (they have appeared in only 14 bowl games - total - in the history of Indiana football)? The CFP has changed bowl game dynamics. It used to include player trips to local highlights (Disneyland, Hollywood, Movie Studios, etc) but many of those events have been eliminated. Will Indiana be able to adjust to the exposure?

Last year, when Bama was sitting at home. Playing Notre Dame, at Notre Dame, in the 1st round of the playoffs last year fits all of the above. At Eugene, in spite of my belief Oregon is a bit down, does the same. The B1GCG? Yeah, fits in my view as well.

I'll proffer where IU can keep this game competitive, if not win, it's because of their upper class experience. In other words, UA needs this game to be about the 2's and the 3's.

I dont see how experience matters on things from years past...
Indiana went to Oregon ...beat them...
Played Illinois...destroyed them ( they looked like pretty good team last night vs TN)
Went to big 10 championship game...beat osu

What really matters...is what they know they can do...with these players..this year

100 years of history dont play this game...

So Indiana has a big bowl history of one (although they did play in the Rose Bowl in 1968). Big regular season games do not have the same impact, or emotion, or distractions, as a postseason game. There are many distractions with bowl games (press day, visit kids in the hospital day, local attraction day - Disneyland) that you don’t face during a regular season game. Which team will handle the off field noise better?

You are looking at a school in the context of a game. I'm looking at experience of the players in this game; not what someone did a quarter of a century ago.

Which team will handle the noise better? IU isn't at a disadvantage. UA hasn't shown itself to be able to consistently.
