🏈 🔎 Game Week: CFP 1st Round - #9 UA @ #8 OU - (DeBoer and players speak with the media: Monday.)

All Venables is going to do is play a basic rush the QB variations. Changing up the rush points. He will do this relentlessly UNTIL the OL &K Simpson make them pay. That's it. If we take the bait & get turnovers, all that will do is make them get more sold to it.

We neeed to heal up. Simpson needs to feel some presure in practice this week as backups get more meaningful reps, especially if he isn't healing up. The OL needs to prepare out of their damn minds. The last day of finals is the 13th....... So they better get tons of reps togehter. Do everything together. Wipe each others asses together. IF we can just get the QB & OL back to earlier levels, we'll be fine. If we don't, it will be more of the same.

Two offenses out to prove they are the most anemic. We’ve scored 24 total points against them in the two games that occurred during the last 13 months. We need to eclipse that total if we want to win. Can’t lose to Venables 3 times in 13 months. Damn Clemson bastard son.

My thoughts on this game are completely different than the past game with UGA. For some reason, I have a pretty good feeling about coming out with a win in Norman. Don't ask me why, it's just a gut feeling (probably something I ate) but that's my story and I am sticking with it for now.

What do we have to do different than the game played in BDS?
1. Get off the field on 3rd down.
2. Do not give up a big play such as a pick 6 or blocked field goal/punt.
3. Win the field position. That is going to be tough with our lack of a good punt game.
4. Score points when we get the opportunity, be a TD, FG or a defensive TD.
5. Have just a little success with the run game.
6. CRG and company must put in some short, quick hitting passing routes. Stick, Mesh, Slants, Screens, etc...
7. Ty has to make better decisions with his passes.
8. OL to perform better than they have in the last two games.

5.41 Yards per play.

That is what Bama averaged against them less than a month ago... only the Vols had more success against the Sooners in that department. Ole Miss was just under 5. The offense was fine, other than the turnovers. Win the turnover battle this time, and Bama likely wins the game.
And here I thought Mando was the one who looked at yards and not points!
