QB - Lee has more td's, less int's and a better qb rating than Mccaron. Also, LSU uses Jefferson as a change of pace guy who has been causing fits for defenses. Bama will have no clue what is coming when Jefferson is in the game. Lee and Jefferson have thrown for a combined 15 td's and 1 int. Advantage LSU
HB - Richardson is the best back in the game. Lacy is a nice back and has a similar style to Trent. LSU has a variety of backs that have different strengths. Ware is a power guy who bruises defenses. Ford is the speedster who is great around the edge. Blue hits the whole hard and picks up tough yards. Hilliard emerged in the Auburn game as another power guy who lines up at FB a lot. LSU can hurt you in a variety of ways with their running backs. Slight advantage Bama
Wide Receivers - LSU has a much better crop since Shephard is back. Rueben Randle is a future 1st rounder. Odell Beckham is the best freshman receiver in the country. Maze is not a true #1 receiver. Major advantage LSU
O-line - Both teams have great o-lines. I give LSU the edge here because Longeran is back. LSU has more depth with him back because they have backups with Hebert, Collins and Shaw. Slight advantage LSU
D-line - Bama has a very good d-line, but it is not as good or deep as LSU's. LSU will play Mingo (sack machine), Montgomery (best all around DE), Adams (speedster), Edwards (run stopper), Brockers (mammoth), Logan (disrupter), Johnson (Freak), Downs (work horse), Rasco (freshman phenom). Bama doesn't have that depth. Advantage LSU
Linebackers - Bama has one of the best linebacker crews in the country. Hightower and company have been around for a while and wreak havoc. LSU has a very good senior in Ryan Baker. Kevin Minter is progressing at MLB. Tahj Jones, Lamin Barrow and Stephan Francois will play some as well. Advantage Bama
Secondary - This is an interesting comparison. Both teams have a shutdown corner. Claiborne is better than Kirkpatrick though and more highly rated. Menzie is a good #2, but Mathieu is a turnover forcing machine and Simon has the size and skills to be the best corner of the bunch. Barron is a known commodity at safety, but Reid is starting to get recognition. Lester is solid at ss. Taylor really is the unheralded leader of this secondary for LSU. Slight advantage LSU
Special Teams - Both teams have solid kickers. LSU has a freshman that is a touchback machine and when it is returned pain will occur. LSU has the best punter in the nation. Claiborne has taken a kick back for a td already. Richardson doesn't scare anyone as a kick returner. Maze is good as a punt returner but won't get the chance because of Wing. Advantage LSU
Coaching - Saban is a very good coach. Miles is unbelievably when having more than a week to prepare though. His teams always win and win big. He out-coached Saban the past 2 seasons and I expect him to do it again. Miles likes to play up the aww shucks thing in the media, but he is really getting in coaches heads. Miles knows what Saban will do, but Saban has no clue what Miles will do. Slight advantage LSU
