🏈 Looking at 2012 through the glasses I bought in the spring of 2010. Things don't look the same to m

2012>2010

But for Cam Newton, the University of Auburn would not have the horses to have the second half that they did. True, we will not have both Ingram and Richardson in the backfield, but we will have National Championship QB back there facing a Defense in their first year under a new DC. Oh, and lets not forget "Never Again".

Arkansas is an interesting study. If the WRs come around, they could be entertaining. I think, in the end, we will be the more complete team.

LSU will have an epic mad on. CNS will have to do a great job of coaching, but mostly coaching the mental part of the game. The interesting part is guessing what will happen should Bama win in Red Stick. That place will lose its collective mind.

Beyond that, every game is ours to lose.

I place that game as much on keeping Barron in the game with the use of only one arm as what they actually did.

OK, going to throw these in the mix.

Across the NCAA in 2010, the most INT's by a team? 24. There were two teams with 23, and two SEC teams with 22—Alabama and Florida.

We ended up ranked #13 in the nation in pass defense.

A lot point to Stephen Garcia as the reason we lost to South Carolina. Frankly, a QB throwing for three TD's would make you think that...except for the fact he only had 200 yards passing all day. Hell, USC just barely broke the 300 yard mark for total offense in that game.

LSU had 208 through the air
.

But wouldn't you agree that putting up those numbers on Bama is the equivalent of putting up double those numbers on someone else? IMHO SC played the best game in the 100+ year history of their program and it took every bit of it to beat Bama. It certainly wasn't the best numbers they had ever put up.

I think it was more the plays Garcia hit in crucial times in the game to keep drives alive more than the number of yards he put up. I'm not sure what their 3rd down conversion rate was that game, but i recall that we struggled to get off of the field.

Alshon Jeffery was incredible. Hell, even Steve Tensi could complete passes to Fred Biletnikoff.

Trust me, QBs love having a big tall receiver to throw to at anytime. I recall in my junior yr in high school, I had a 6'5" receiver. It didn't matter if he was covered or not, I would throw the ball his way if I got into any trouble. He had maybe 50-55 catches during the yr for around 1000+yds and 6-8 tds. Alshon did make Garcia better than Garcia ever truly was.

I have a hard time putting that game over the one in 2001 they won.

Just as with Tensi and Biletnikoff, Jeffery will be remembered long after Garcia is forgotten. All know of Biletnikoff, even if too young to remember him. Very, very few of the old farts like me would remember that Tensi was his QB at FSU.

Just saw something about the 2012 schedule that relates to 2010. The LSU game is of great concern because it will be Bama's 3rd road game in 4 consecutive weeks with LSU coming off a bye week. The last time Bama faced that situation they were the 2009 defending NC and ranked #1 in the nation in 2010 playing at SC.

We were in a no win situation. If we had chosen—the bye week date was a decision made by our staff—to take the bye week before LSU we would have a home game against Ole Miss on the 29th of Sept. and wouldn't have had another home game until Texas A&M visits Nov. 10th.

It is a one year thing, according to Coach Saban. The conference was forced to scramble a bit...

It's unfortunate. But?

Est quid est.

I remember that all too well. I was at the Bama/FSU game in 1967.Once they quit trying to throw on Bobby John's side it seemed like they completed passes whenever they wanted to.

Pardon a small hijack.

I made a joke before the season started about what Ashlon had been eating over the off season because it looked like he had added a "dunlap" over the summer.

I caught a small line the night before last he had weighed in at 249lb for scouts.

Even more ironic that it winds up the exact same scheduling as in 2010 because I didn't know that Bama had any choice in the matter this year. They had a very viable option in 2010 and chose to let things stay as they were. As soon as the 2010 schedule was released with all the byes, I was saying that they should buy out of the Duke game and stay at home so as not to make the first of those byes also the 3rd road game in 4 consecutive weeks.

They're saying his 40 time has been terrible too.

i was at that game... talk about wanting to vomit so badly but not being able to produce any chunks. depressing.

So was I. Crazy, crazy game.

You can't take anything away from what they did that day. Who was it, Derek Watson, that made some incredible catches in the second half?

Tyler's best game of his career? What was it? Just under 400 yards of total offense he accounted for that game?
