🏈 Little recruiting tidbit...

Expect a commitment from 5 * Louisiana defensive tackle Ishmael Sophser this week. I fully expect Bama to sign both the highest ranked OL and DL in the nation this cycle as they continue recruiting dominance under CNS.

I've been watching this guy and the body language and past LA success makes me hopeful. This recruiting cycle could end up being the best for big men on both sides of the LOS in the Saban era. I do expect to get the 5* kid out of Pinson and who knows who else? I think with all the young skill players already on board it's a great strategy.

They say Clay Webb is the best interior lineman they have seen in many many years. His size, strength, and nasty attitude on the field set him a part.

It's funny, because I read on here somewhere where a recruitnic stated Sopsher seemed distant and focused on other things during his visit to Tuscaloosa, and did not expect him in this class. Disinterested may have been the adjective to describe him. Wish I would have taken note which guy said that, but it makes me laugh as I took it for what it was worth at the time when not much was being said about Sopsher and Alabama. Glad your texts and message here as well as the last article I read have changed my tune on him.

We rarely get any players from Oxford in fact I can't remember the last one we got. Most always go to the barn.

There's been a few over the years. Clay is a lock.

Ishmael Sopsher, 5-star DT, Amite (La.)

Devonta Lee’s teammate, Ishmael Sopsher, also is a top priority for Alabama. Sopsher and Lee took numerous trips to Tuscaloosa when DeVonta Smith was going through his recruitment, so both players are familiar with Tuscaloosa.

Sopsher’s interest level in the Crimson Tide fell off last year because of undisclosed reasons with former defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt. Now that Pruitt is gone, Sopsher is back to highly considering Alabama. He visited for the A-Day game last month and should be back on campus before the end of summer.

Sopsher won’t make his college decision until National Signing Day, and this recruitment should also turn out to be an Alabama-LSU battle. The one thing that could make Sopsher’s recruitment interesting is if a school offers a scholarship to his older brother, Rodney, a junior college defensive lineman. The brothers want to attend the same school. Rodney currently has no offers.
