Alabama inside linebacker Trey DePriest has been suspended for a violation of team rules, coach Nick Saban said after Tuesday's practice.

Saban said he will be eligible to return to the team if he fulfills his obligations. DePriest was not at practice Tuesday.

DePriest was Alabama's second-leading tackler behind C.J. Mosley in 2012, racking up 59 tackles and 13 starts.
More to come.

Def. not a good thing to have a guy thats going to be counted on as a leader getting suspended, especially this close to the season. Hopefully he gets his head right and makes things good.

At least we know Saban isn't going to tolerate dumb stuff. You don't want attention to your team this way, but let the discipline reign! If he can't man up, there is plenty of depth to step up to his job!

Wes Neighbors was talking yesterday, that Trey had lost weight and strength after his surgery and was getting frustrated. He may have missed a meeting or whatever who knows. Wes said that he is getting passed by guys like Reggie Ragland, and 5th year guy Tana Patrick, for whom the LIGHT finally has come on and is having a great fall camp! He is set to have a great senior season in much the way Jerrell Harris did. Great competition.

I figure that it must be some missed meetings or workouts or showing up late that got the suspension. For CNS to say that he may be back within a week leads one to believe that this is simply an attention getter and not much worse.

He has a 38" vertical leap. When he was being recruited there was a video of him as a basketball player who was a 3 star recruit. Had he been three or four inches taller he would have been a highly sought after hoops recruit. I am looking forward to watching him mature this year.

I stand corrected then. Come to think of it, guy looks like he could play JACK.

Ragland was a BEAST on the blocks for Bob Jones in basketball. Like Joe said, if he had another 3 or 4 inches on him, we would be watching him run up and down the floor in Coleman.

From a very unreliable source, it was something to do with breaking his nutrition plan and pigging out at Taco Bell.... I know hard to believe, but I'm passing it along.... Remember, I said a source that's not the best but has been right sometimes...
