Don’t know who did the recording but it could be illegal depending on state laws. Kosher if both parties know, some states allow it if one party knows.

After hearing the recording on Josh Pate’s Late Kick show, I want to retract my statement about Lane. Lane told him “like it was in the real world”. Heck! You just don’t get to walk away from a job for 2 weeks without a word and then blow off the boss’ request to meet. You get fired!! The kid might have had a leg to stand on had he expressed some mental health issues before going AWOL!!
As for the recording! I believe MS is a single consent state, as long as one party knows, it’s legal. Shitty thing to do, but still legal. As far as the timing goes, it just happens to be released less than an hour after Ole Miss filed to have the case dismissed the week of perhaps the biggest game for Ole Miss in perhaps the last 50+ years. Normally, it would be Lane providing the distractions and everyone would be chalking it up to his immaturity. Sorry Lane! I was wrong!!

Didn't even hear this but solidifies my point. Since there is no CBA in College Football YET, I don't think the kid has a leg to stand on in a lawsuit. Like terry said though, the damage is done for this week. The distraction is already out there.
