I don't think there is another sports where "if you miss one second" matters. A wristed slap shot happens so damn quickly.
Maybe it's just me. I'll swear a couple of them were asking the same question I have been, "WTF with the stuffed animals?" It's so weird I don't want to look it up.
I guess this goes to show much much I've watched them award the medals throughout my life. I've never noticed until the women's gold.It's just a trinket thing (official mascot of the games) that they give at every olympics to medal winners.

I thought I was just amused at seeing all the Canadians freak out over the loss. I get that though: we see it in sports all the time with fans.
