🏈 Landon been busy in the backfield

In all seriousness, this is a huge issue, at least imo, in the black community that seems to just be accepted as part of it. The number of siblings with different last names astounds me. But I'm gonna sip this tea.

It's a two-sided issue. One side is the men who do this. The other side is the women that allow them to. I don't know if they're enthralled with the "dating" of a professional athlete with hopes of a bigger bank account, or simply an "I don't care" attitude regarding coitus with someone who gives them attention.

I'll never understand why these guys that have financial success don't wrap it up. The girls all knew what they were doing. He did too, but he should be smarter than that. Can't speak for these gals.

This happens a lot with pro athletes. No telling how many kids are out there. I know 2 girls in Charlotte, slept with Panthers players just a couple of times. Didn't even really date. Player got traded it cut. Girl has baby and never as hot as she was before. Mom and baby never see Dad. Sad scenerio.

I wonder what CNS feels about this? Hurt? Disappointed? Disgusted? Unimpressed? Impressed? SHAME? I go with hurt. I believe it is a fact that CNS and Bama work at filling Bama's guys not only with the best way to develop their skills, but also with the properties of class and character. Neither of which is evident by the actions of Mr Collins. I don't blame any single man for doing what he can, but by the same token, when you foul up, you need to step up and do the right thing. But then again, in today's society, doing the right thing seems to be passe'. It appears to be to do what one wants and let the G'ment handle the consequences. What's happened to us?

I've wondered about some of our players who have fallen far and fast from a character standpoint. I wonder if a portion of it is that during the three or four years our brains are developing responsibility, self-determination and consequences, they have a high performing apparatus monitoring, guiding, directing and controlling their every step to keep them eligible academically, limit their opportunities for bad choices (or choices at all) and cajole them to develop athletically. Could this lack of independence stunt, to some degree, their maturation?

As to doing what you want without consequences, the never-ending unemployment benefits during the last downturn, along with expanded welfare and food stamps, reduced the opportunity cost of not working. I remember articles of landscapers unable to hire workers because if they were on unemployment and food stamps they were only "making" about $40 a week less than a landscaper. They chose to sit, and Congress kept extending benefits. Turning off the spigot for one of my older boys who couldn't find a job enabled him to "find" one almost immediately after the money ran out. Funny how that works. The permanent nature of our welfare state is killing our nation.

SMH ....... would somebody please buy that man a box of rubbers.

A box? He needs damn STOCK and a lifetime supply of Trojans!!!
People talk stereotypes and get pissed and then we have this! This isn't good at all! Being a man means a helluva lot more than just dippin your whick or letting it soak! Be a father to these kids and support them everyday! This really pisses me off!

No point in getting pissed off for something you can't control, this won't have any impact to you or your family (perhaps it might cost you a few tax dollars to pay for some food stamps :D).

If true, it is what it is. All he can do is learn from it and make better decisions. Everyone has a different journey in life, some paths are easier for others.

(I'm trying not to be so judgmental these days...very hard for me) I haven't always taken the right path, I've certainly had my struggles. Who am I to judge others for theirs...(unless you're a barner or tenn fan/player :D)

Is it technically being judgemental if it's something that has actually happened? I don't think there is much room for interpretation or in the eye of the beholder with the fact there are multiple kids. It's not like you're looking at someone for the first time and don't see them in cool clothes or something and think they're weird. This is his true character showing. These women don't seem to be amused, and rightfully so.

Agreed that there is no sense in getting pissed. Reading the text exchange is what really chaps my azz though. The idea of abusing a government system that was set in place originally to help those get back on their feet. The blue print was set in motion long before Landon came along and he knows how it works. Thing is, he has a job that can provide for those kids. Reminds me of Barry Bonds years ago when he first went to San Francisco. He was going through a divorce and he went before the judge asking for his child support payments to be reduced because of the high cost of living in CA. The damn judge AGREED!!! We have students at the HS in my system that have one plan and one plan only. Get out of school, get project housing for $10-15 a month, have kids, and collect a check on each one. It was how they were raised, their parents, etc. Very few of those kids want to get a college education and get away.

For those that lost respect for him, what exactly did he do to earn your respect?

First off, who knows if this is legit or not. Second, that's on him, it's not a reflection on the program. We all know that Saban brings in all types of people to give them a leg up. More so that what the average joe gets. While I don't agree with his social program views and I applaud her for not wanting to milk the system, especially when the father makes a better living than I do. Who here thought he'd fall from that momma tree and not get a little crazy on him? (that might have been judgmental)

People have to demand better to get better and the system should enable a helping hand, but be careful not to provide a crutch (like the one you've mentioned). I believe it takes a generation for that view to change, but the parents have to enable that and they aren't equipped to support that.

I'm more of a pull out vs a wrap it guy. Bareback feels much better...but that's a different story.
