🏈 Kind of OT: AJ McCarron NFL tonight

I had hope AJ would have started the game playing with the 1's so you could get a better picture of what he can do. His field position was just awful and the penalties even worse. He did some good things and showed leadership. Maybe this week he will get to play with the 1's. Dalton is so average.

AJ will get another chance to play a lot in the 4th preseason game. His check down throws looked good, but as Gruver mentioned, he was not very effective throwing down the sidelines. But hey, first game back in over a year, an offense that was already hanging it up, and just poor play across the board in general... it'll be ok. He's going to make the roster and if Dalton continues to struggle, he may get meaningful time this year.

I thought he did well last night. He checked down when he was supposed to. The throw down the sideline, some of you have to remember that Tampa Bay was pressuring and didnt give AJ chance to make the proper throws... The plus is that he drove the team down the field.... whereas Dalton couldn't.

Not bad vs the prevent D... Late and not enough arm strength on the downfield throws.

He could be a solid backup. Smart, well prepared, can make the 5 yard passes I guess. But he isn't going to put much pressure on a serious defense. Reminded me of Kyle Orton last night... JMO

Aj had no protection last night. His 20+ yard throws were bad but he was also running for his life. If I was cincy I would rest my starting Oline for the rest of preseason. If you have to play one of those backups your gonna be in trouble.
