🏈 Kiffin turned down UCLA OC offer days before Title game.

he'd me a much more desireable head coach hire if he continues to work under Saban and we continue to perform on the offensive side of the ball... I don't see any lateral moves in his future.. only HC moves. Unless someone wheels the Brinks Truck up to his door step for that lateral move...

How does his wife like Tuscaloosa? She's a West Coast girl, right?

Does she even live in Tuscaloosa? I keep seeing a lot of stuff about her staying in Cali while he works and even that they are separating. I don't think I've ever seen her once since he's been at Bama(though I did read that she was present Monday).

For him to be a "west coast guy", as many have stated, you'd think he'd jump at the chance to head back to what many believe to be his "home"- Los Angeles, even for a lateral move.

But nope, he likes it here, learning from the best.

Alabama OC Lane Kiffin turned down Pac-12 offer before national championship game

I wouldn't think that at all, SLO... It's a lateral move in "title" but a huge move backwards in terms of his career. He's winning conference and national championships at the premier college destination in the premier college league. UCLA isn't in that conversation.

His next move would have to be as a head coach, right? Epsecially considering he turned down the NFL coordinator position last year.

No. She doesn't live in Tuscaloosa. LK has been renting Pruitt's old place since he's been in town (the last time that came up in a conversation: with JP back I don't know what the situation is now.) She and the kids do stay in Birmingham part of the time from what I understand. I guess we can call her bi-coastal?

If you see the kids you can pretty well guarantee she's only a few steps away. It's interesting to me how Tennessee folk put her front and center when Kiffin was in Knoxville, but she easily moves around in the "shadows" in Tuscaloosa.

In a sense, it's not unlike the Auburn folk throwing camera's in James Franklin's face when Tubs let him go. The way "family" is treated varies GREATLY from one place to another ... much like the way coaching staff members are treated differently from one school to another.

Weren't they renting in Mountain Brook? Her and the kids were there in Atlanta, Dallas, and in Glendale Monday night. I thought it hilarious that their kids were fighting over the gold streamers. His daughter dragging his son around on the turf, but he was like that puppy. He wasn't letting go for a second!!

It could be an inaccurate assessment because all I get to see is the sidelines interaction, but Lane Kiffin doesn't really strike me as a head coach kind of guy. He strikes me as a nuts and bolts, brainy coordinator guy. I'm not sure why making megabucks as an offensive coordinator for the best football program in the history of football isn't good enough.

I hope he stays and develops some more QBs at Alabama. It's been fun to watch the growth of the last 2 which is nothing short of exceptional 2 years in a row.

I agree with you. Having said that, he's a fantastic OC. Players love him. He finds the mismatches and the plays to exploit them. He understands offensive football. If he wants more control of a program, then naturally he'll want to be the HC once more. But, like you say, he's learning from the best. And he's so young. It reminds me of what Saban said about Ragland I think it was something like he made a $12M to $14M decision to stay his senior year. He has more to learn. If he's patient and stays with CNS another year or two it would pay off, I think...
