The players have done the hard part; now it’s up to the coaching staff. Alabama players were given two days off – Sunday and today – following their second scrimmage, which pretty much marks the end of training camp.

Alabama coaches now have the tough task of deciding which players will have roles on the 2012 Crimson Tide, and which will be put on a more developmental track on the scout teams.

With 12 days left until kickoff against Michigan in Dallas, the task must come now. There isn’t enough practice time left to get reps for 105 players. Head coach Nick Saban and his staff have to ā€œpick a laneā€ on some players, as he has described it in the past.
