With the Ohio State and Michigan game being cancelled this week i think they could have tried to schedule a game with Texas A&M since they are not playing as well. Seems like it worked last week with BYU and Coastal Carolina

From what I have heard it a conference thing? Both being from a different conference. The B1G is going to bow down to tOS so that the team will play for the B1G crown! Right now it will be Indiana and Northwestern.

Both conferences will not budge on their stance about playing only within the conference. Even if they did play it, OSU would beat A&M by 40.
I doubt 40....but would be a better game than Northwestern will be...that will be by 40...or more

and whynot budge,....its stupid tohave an opportunity to make some real bucks...
And play agame that is important..
But..probably wont

Not that this will matter but didn't the B1G squash Nebraska's attempt at playing outside the conference? Might that be one of those anchors that will cause them to pause before paving the way for OSU? I know if I were the Nebraska brass I would push back and remind the other schools of the earlier decision.

true...but now it benefits the blue bloods of big 10...not the newly arrived Nebraska..
I am sure they will do anything that helps osu....
Even playing this season...is / was ultimately for OSU...andFields...
They arent gonna waste that

So Nebraska leaves because of a conference bowing to one program just to be in another conference that will do the same. With that said I do agree they will not waste it but if I am Nebraska I am going to remind the conference of it. In the end it will not matter as you said.

yeah...played second fiddle....in some minds...toTexas...now osu/Michigan...
Nebraska has a better tradition in era of modern football...60s to present...than texas...( i guess...but seems so)

Really no value in TAMU playing Ohio State. They are arguably right where they need to be.

SEC shouldn't help the B1G. This is the B1Gs mess to clean up.

Add to the fact that the B1G needs the SEC more than the SEC needs the B1G... which is a LOUD bitch slap to the B1G, especially with all the TV contract issues, I can't imagine SEC/CBS/ESPN deferring it to FOX.

Just my thinking.

B1G opted not to have fans at the game.
B1G opted to play fewer games.

Both of these impact the financials of a program.

Now they're faced with the fact that a B1G program will not make the CFP. Another financial hit for the conference. How much will the B1G lose this year?

This isn't about helping Ohio State, it's about helping the conference.

I believe Ohio State is a good team, best in the B1G. Do not believe 5 games should get you into the playoffs. Considering other teams have played twice that number of games.

SEC had limited fans, more games, and could have 2 teams making the playoff.

What will tv revenue look like this year for all programs?

F the B1G and their inability to plan accordingly. They mismanaged this from the beginning.

Checkers vs chess.

all true....but...
I was thinking....great game to watch...( regardless if some think it would be blowout)...
If osu doesn’t get into conference cc game...playAnM that weekend..( could hurt bama or ND)
Play in game...moving fast toward expanded playoff...perfect year to have expanded

and they might change rules...ACC did to not have games for ND or Clemson cc game

If OSU is given a free ride then it would benefit TAMU to play and beat them. Not the SEC helping the B1G in that scenario. Do I think TAMU would beat them? No. So maybe TAMU's chances are better waiting to see of OSU gets a free ride or not.

Does going 6-0 compete against 9-1? How will they stack up against a 10-1 team (loser of SECCG)?

Honestly, Ohio States schedule is meh. The B1G is terrible this year, moreso than most years.
