Not my numbers but if it's true, it's telling:

BAMA:

#8 in total defense,
#7 in rushing defense,
#2 in scoring defense.

If we take out Manziel:

#1 in total defense,
#1 in scoring defense,
#1 in passing defense,
#3 in rushing defense.

I'd call that impact.

Dude can flat out play, and in clutch situations he turns it up. Wasn't having just a great day at Ole Miss but when UM started scoring at the end he elevated his game and matched them. On 3rd and long and even 4th and long he always got it done. Even with a big knee brace on. The UM star defensive player dove to stop him on that 4th down or 3rd and long play and knocked himself out. Sometimes I wonder how much better could be be...

on another note, Sumlin is the hot coach for one reason, JF... Take him away (and Sumlin inherited him I might add) and Sumlin is not the hot coach mentioned for every job opening. I know the guy did some good things before coming to A&M but nobody enters the SEC the way his team has and there's one person that deserves that credit. And it ain't Sumlin...
