🏈 Johnny Football "can't wait to leave College Station"

Dude needs to stay off twitter first off. I admire him for doing his own thing, but I will say from my viewpoint he needs to turn it down just a bit.

I think people are making more of this than they should.

Johnny Football "can't wait to leave College Station"

Folks are definitely making more of it than they should. There's a good percentage of high profile players who can't wait to leave their respective schools and college towns, most just don't say so publicly. Not everyone is a Barrett Jones. Lord help us if someone like Yeldon ever says such...

I think more people may have a beef with the tweet following the "can't wait to leave College Station." He tweeted that he "loved College Station but wished people would PLEASE take a walk in his shoes!" Now that might be understandable if Johnny had come from the similar background of someone like DJ Fluker who's family lost EVERYTHING due to Katrina and bounced around before landing in Foley and then to UA or even Eddie Lacy's background. BUT Johnny has been jet setting in Miami, Cabo, courtside at Maverick's games, throwing out first pitches at Rangers games, etc. I guess the jet lag must be wearing on the poor boy. I say "tough $%@* Johnny!"

Talented as hell but he is a complete and utter spoiled douche. That's the best way I can describe it. Why the hell doesnt Sumlin just ban him from Twitter. You would think after the first few times he would wait until hes gone from school to be partying all over the place too.

If I remember, didn't he say he would stop using Twitter and would close his account? That lasted two weeks. I don't care what kind of work ethic he has, he's annoying as hell.

I have to agree. It's like, I understand he is a superstar and everything he says is everyone else's business now, but it's all the more reason for him to try and keep his stuff private, you know? Especially if it could damage his image. He just comes off as a bratty, spoiled jerk .. He is the stereotypical jock.

This is a first—defending stereotypical jocks. Nit-picking? Maybe.

I think college football fans wish he was a stereotypical jock and not the socialite he is being right now.

Let me ask you all a quick question...have you actually been to College Station :)

He's 21, living probably the life that most sports fans would die for, meeting numerous athletes, going to prime time games, first pitches, etc.

To me, Manziel is in the same boat as Tebow, suffers from too much exposure. Everything he says is blown outta proportion.

I'd be willing to bet he's probably pretty fun to hang out with...

A few MASSIVE differences between he and Tebow: Tebow didn't go around partying and underage drinking while publicizing it on social media... Tebow didn't publicly say he couldn't wait to leave Gainseville. Tebow also never got arrested.

Yes Tebow was annoying but I never got the "spoiled douchebag" vibe from him. Also, Johnny seems to be under the microscope more than Tebow was by the media. The media loved everything and anything he did while not so much for Johnny tho I do think the media gives him too much of a pass as well but I guess that comes with super stardom.
