Johns and Grant in the same backfield...

What a good move by the Coach. What a backfield in certain situations with Johns and Grant. I read where the new freshman FB Griffin is getting some looks at both RB and FB. Can't wait to see an offense that actually keeps the defenses guessing....instead of Darby up-the-middle..

Finebaum was hackin on Bama's assistant coaches 2. He said Applewhite was too inexperienced and Pendry never has accomplished much. Time will tell, but I know this offense is gonna be better than Shula's. They may not put up 500 yards a game but they won't be horrible in the red zone. Thats 4 Sure.

Applewhite may be a tad on the inexperienced side but I'll tell you what. What he did last year as OC at Rice was amazing. Last year was the first time in 10 or so years that rice wasn't running the wishbone and Applewhite came in with the new staff (under Graham) and did an oustanding job of turning that team into a spread attack.

Rice went to a bowl game last season after losing 8 or more for every year in recent memory and they were exciting to watch. Heck, I watched them 2 or 3 times last season and was very impressed given what the circumstances were.

Applewhite is a smart guy (being a former QB). He'll do fine over the long haul as an OC and possibly even a HC down the road.

That worries me. Now that Bill Walsh is dead, there are only a handful of people on earth that know more about football that Paul Finebaum.
