🏈 Jamie Newman opting out UGA

Kirby water carrier, Rusty Mansell, says=

TidBit: Newman was trouble from Day 1. Skipped

meetings. Was not a team leader. Missed field activities.

Coaches counseled him, coached his mind up, tried to work with him. He got worse.
I think he may have made a deal with an agent.

JT, when healthy, is the better player. Dwan is a better QB than Newman.

Monken was not happy with Newman--the kid has an attitude. The kid has accuracy problems especially on mid-range passes.

When healthy is a better player.....we'll see.

There's a couple of people I trust with news out of USC. Neither of them feel JT is a fit for Kirby: two conflicting personality types. What I find immensely entertaining here is the things we're seeing out of the UGA faithful now (on Newman) are the same things we were saying, here, back in the spring.

I can tell you this bowlhead was looking forward to coming into T-town with a dual treat QB. I watched several USC games with Daniels at QB and I'm not concerned if he is running the show.

I felt Slovis had a superior arm and size compared to Daniels after watching him early last season. I feel he made a mistake in re-classifying and them throwing him into the fire at USC. Almost like South Carolina did with Jake Bentley.

So UGA screwed up one way or the other. They either did poorly evaluating the player including he intangibles or once they got him there they screwed up getting him acclimated to the culture, developing his skills and helping him fit in enough to help from a depth perspective. My money is on the evaluating the player part.

Trying to keep a roster with 2 good QB's is a struggle these days and will probably get worse going forward. I am hopeful that Bama can avoid an injury at the QB position. Every teams season could take a drastic swing if they were to lose their starting QB's.
There were only three or four that made it through the entire season last year (SEC.)
