🏈 JaMarcus Shephard has been hired as Oregon State

Being a WR coach under DeBoer is a highly coveted spot. It's a resume booster, like being a LB coach under Saban or Smart. Shepard was never going to be a long term stay, and bot sides knew that... he's be close to leaving before for promotions. His predecessor under DeBoer, Kirby Moore, will be a HC sooner than later as well... he's just still a tad young for many jobs. But DeBoer will have no issues with a shortage of candidates if he chooses to go outside the staff and replace Shephard.

And his Linguist pull from Buffalo 2 years ago was so impressive at the time (and still is) that I have zero concerns about him replacing a guy or 2 on defense either... though I really hope (selfishly) that Linguist sticks around a bit longer. But again, it's more of a rental situation with him too.... sooner or later he's going to take another job.

Ok does anyone know if this is true or not? I read that Marquis Maze has put his name in for the for the receivers coach? If you need to know it coming from TDA? I can't find anything about this? I do know someone here does?

Thanks!

I don't know.
It wouldn't surprise me.
He's part of their cliche clique.

I'm guessing based off his tweet... I mean no disrespect to Maze who was a very good (and underrated) player for Bama, but DeBoer will have much stronger resumes on his desk to choose from.

Being a good and even great player does not guarantee you can coach. To me this is where x-players cross the line. Put your time in demonstrating your coaching skills then in time you will get your chance. With that said I have no idea what Maze has done after he left Bama.

I'm guessing. I don't think he's serious.

It reads to me like something a guy would say when he's sitting around with a group of friends. "Me and my boy will get it done!"

I know what he's not done... coached SEC level wide receivers.
