Can't find the video link, but Tom asked Jalen about the speech at halftime.

Jalen said he got his offense together and said "I'm driving the bus. This bus is leaving when we go out in the 2nd half. Y'all can get on this bus with me or get left. But I'm driving us to victory"

Not exactly verbatim, because again... I cant find the link. But, that is leadership right there. That kid has grown into the role of field general. And you could see it in the 2nd half, but especially on the final drive with just over a minute to go.

Clutch. Cold-blooded.

I have to know what took so long to run a drag route with all those blitz one after the other. Is it on Jalen or the beard ?

Jalen is a monster at the college level. Baker Mayfield is the scariest QB in college football this season though.

While we're on the subject, is it even humanly possible that Luginbill, McElroy, and company could watch a football game anymore intently through the singular perspective of a what a Bulldawg did do, should do, could do, will do, through every play in that cowbell ringing ballgame? I thought Greg was going to laugh himself silly on the long punt that pinned Bama to the goal line.

Mostly I'm past waiting for Greg to get religion. Maybe he underwent a lobotomy during the offseason, maybe someone stole his soul for fame and fortune over at the dark side. But he has worn out his welcome with me from this point forward.

I realize that the primetime game is usually Blackledge and Joe Tessitore's to do, but the stress for me was high enough and at the end of the 3rd quarter I finally cut off the sound completely. Suddenly, Bama started moving the football at will, making tackles in space, and controlling the LOS and the scoreboard. The best football move I made all night. Just wish I had made the call during halftime and not cut it so close.

Here you go Sgt!

Yeah I smiled when I saw that interview. This is Jalen's team and he made it pretty clear last night. No more quiet leadership.

Both of those last passes were slants and I legitimately don't think we've run more than 5 all season. It's pretty ridiculous considering how many blitzes we've seen and I dont think Duball even called those. From what Hurts and Ridley were saying after the game it sounded like Hurts audibled to the slant when he saw they were coming.

Why are fans so whiny about commentators? Greg McElroy is not a former Alabama QB or Alabama fan when he is doing commentary. It's not his job to make you happy by slobbering all over Alabama. It's his job to call the game with as little bias as possible. I swear people say this bullshit every single game, and it comes from almost all fan bases, "theyre against us! they're rooting for the other guys." Jesus Christ, no they aren't. They're calling a football game and probably praying for it to be exciting.

So what you're telling me is that you have completely dismissed the emotional predisposition of the media to call it as they feel it?

Why, the wording of your reply alone should be a lesson to all humanoids that such a thing is physically impossible.

A TV commentator is supposed to unbiased. Period. It's not his job to make you happy that he's cheering for our team. Kirk Herbstreit doesn't openly root for Ohio State, Reece Davis doesn't openly cheer for Alabama. If you want to hear a commentator cheer on a team, listen to the the school's radio team. Their job is to call the game fairly but they work for the school. Greg McElroy works for ESPN.

In that you've either missed my point or are ignoring it all together, I'll simplify:

Greg has about as much chance to give an intellectual thought without the corresponding emotion to go along with it as you do. That's not to say that Greg wouldn't be better than you at disguising his preconceived bias in intellectual rhetoric, but then so could my 5-year-old granddaughter. So there is that.

Awwww, someone not needing for a commentary to slob all over my team makes you insult me. Brush your hurt feelings away, snowflake. That is not what you said, AT ALL. You were pretty much whining that Greg was openly rooting for State. Which is dumb. That's about as simple as I can get. And then even suggested that somehow Bama magically did better because you muted the TV (which I guarantee you didnt actually do). Even dumber.

Dont often disagree with Tusk but do on this one.....
I think GM has a good TV voice,...does a good job....but he is
overly cautious about sounding like a Bama homer....even the other way most of the time....
.....i think that label would hurt him down the road.....and I wouldn't be surprised for him to see himself long term in broadcast...and seriosly....wouldnt he be better then CBSs Danielson...geeze that guy has an irrationally voice to add to his irrelevant chatter...

I see you're still struggling with your reading comprehension skills. I am saying that Greg is biased and has expressed it most dramatically all season, pretty much everytime a mike is hooked up to his red noggin. Whether he's providing fodder for Finebaum, doing a football game or spouting off 14 karat nonsense on "thinking out loud." By the time Marcus and the redhead are through with their ranting on that one they are left with a sports show that is a lot more "out loud" than "thinking."

Greg doesn't need you to defend his professionalism. And if I want to state the obvious, you certainly won't deter that.

Social media, ain't it great?

My reading comprehension isn't the problem, your ability to actually know WTF you're talking about is the problem and trying to stay on topic. We aren't talking about his OPINION-based talk show. Let's go over that again, let me say it one more. OPINION-based... we were talking about his COMMENTARY during a football game. Where he has shown a nice ability to be very unbias. And lets not ignore that you implying that he was simply giddy when State punted Bama down inside their own 10 (stupid observation, not obvious).

Oh, and this isn't social media, it's a message board. :)

You are really quite emotional. It's as if you have a preconceived bias toward anything I say that smacks of rebuttal in your world. My opinion of Greg's professionalism is uniquely my own and I see no reason to measure my opinions on how you think the discussion should go. If discussing McElroy's track record offends you, just know, I can live with that.

Whatever helps you feel better about yourself.

Right there with ya @TUSKstuff, listening to McElroy and Pasch was painful. I was a little irritated that night, our band didn't make finals, I got into a silly argument with the wife, Alabama making some really boneheaded errors, and hearing these commentators was essentially the icing on the cake.

McElroy got alot of feedback on twitter for his commentary Saturday night, both good and bad.
