📡 Jalen Hurts Interview (video from the Orange Bowl.)

remember in the preseason how Saban was getting roasted by every on in the media for not communicating with his player, not thinking of what was best for his players interest, would this tear apart the locker room, that this would be a black eye for recruits thinking of going to Bama.

Then when Jalen spoke at media days everyone turned his words into an inditement of Saban.

Wow haw the narrative has changed in the media. Saban is a genius once again. Jalen has never said he has ever thought of transferring. Maybe he still has no plans to transfer and he loves his school and his boys and wants to play for the NC every year. Maybe he still thinks he is the best QB and plans to win the job.

Maybe his words in the preseason weren't about the coaching staff failing to speak with him about something he had no interest in doing. but he was referring to the media making all the hype about a process they have no control over except to speculate and assume they know a young mans heart and mind and to assume they know more about the relationship between a coach and a player better than the coach and player do.

If Jalen decides to return to Alabama next year... I guarantee you that he will be voted a permanent team captain and have his spot at Denny Chimes.

I remember Jalen wondering, out loud, why coach Saban went on ESPN and told them he doesn't know if Jalen was staying. Jalen didn't understand what coach Saban was saying when, he said, I already told him I was staying. I submit, the media, Bama nation, was no more or less confused than Jalen. But, all things change, as they always do.

I would agree this was most of the reasons why Jalen stayed and others left.

Jalen was invested when Tua took over as the starter. Call it a desire for graduation, a 24-2 record as a starter, his love for the teammates, respect for coach Saban, it was his personal decision and his investment alone. I think the unknown going forward is all the unforeseen stuff that happened along the way. The media and certainly Bama fans embraced him even tighter for the unusual character it took not to be totally selfish. The SEC game that he should have been the MVP of and who knows what's waiting in the playoff will only add to his next big decision.
