📝 Jahmyr Gibbs has announced his transfer to Alabama.

Awesome. A quick look at that position next year...

-McClellan
-R. Williams
-Sanders
-Wheaton
-Gibbs
-Henderson
-Miller

Got to think that thins out somehow, but hopefully this group stays healthy!
Great addition! Closest RB to Reggie Bush that I've seen since Reggie Bush. His high school film is amazing, not sure why he picked GT but glad he's with us now. It is possible that we lose one, but looking at that lineup, I have a feeling it buys time for our injured guys to fully heal without rushing back. JMO.

  • McClean - ACL, typically takes a year for mental and physical recovery
  • Williams - ACL, same as above
  • Wheaton - Meniscus tear, we don't know extent of injury. Hopefully not extensive but pain could be a problem. Could be the one to transfer.
  • Sanders - Major hip injury, but well on the road to recovery.
  • Gibbs - likely day one starter barring any setbacks
  • Henderson - redshirt
  • Miller - redshirt

Being the kid is coming from GT, we know he has a set of kidney's between his ears. The thing I always wonder about a RB coming into the system is being able to pick up blocks and knowing "who is your man". I know this is apples to oranges, but that was why Derrick Henry didn't see the field much until the bowl game his freshman year. He, however, was a blank slate that was never taught any of that in HS. Gibbs, having played college ball and coming in and going through spring, should be more than enough for him to be the next man up in our line of RB's. Can't wait to see him light it up in Crimson.

If his skill set translates to UA, he may be the best mailman we’ve had in a while. Definitely a home run threat, like our current #1 JW. Would love to see a season of both these guys in Crimson.

Hope this guy is everything you guys are saying but I will tap the brakes a little bit. It would be awesome for him to be the best we have seen in awhile since only one year ago we had the first rounder Najee Harris. Also heisman trophy winner Reggie Bush like? I hope he is awesome but there seems to be a lot of hype because he chose Bama.

He is everything you're reading about. Was a stud in high school, Top 100 player. Went to Tech due to proximity to home and new coach at the time exciting all the recruits. He can play. If he can play behind that line at Tech and stand out, he will be amazing at Alabama. He was zeroed in in that Tech offense as they had very few playmakers. Now he'll just be another stud you have to try and stop with our boys. He's very fast. I don't like to ever say a sure thing, but he's a good bet.

I think Gibbs is going to be a massive get for Bama. The combination of he and Jace in the backfield, if both can stay healthy, will add so much to the offense and take a lot of pressure off that passing game. If Emmanuel Henderson can come in and play to his potential he could be a stud, too, and probably right off the bat as a returner. We're definitely going to lose some guys to the multiverse portal.

I remember Najee well but this guy seems to have a gear that Najee didn't. Najee was great but to me tightness in his hip area seemed to hold him back a bit.
More to RB than just speed. Najee had good speed, quickness, power and caught the ball well out of the backfield. My point in all of this is Najee was a beast and I sure hope this guy can get even close to that standard. If he does he will do well. Call me cautiously optimistic until I see it on the field at Bama. I honestly do not know anything about this guys but just know what we have had in the past and it is an exceptionally high standard. When this guy does what you guys are saying I would love to be reminded of this thread and my hesitation.
