They both looked great the first half and both can be insane. But in the second half when the D was allowed to blitz and change up looks. Both looked lost again. Jalen went right back to his deer in the headlights scramble and lost about 15 yards on a 3rd and 2/3. If he doesn't get it together on these third downs CNS is gonna God forbid have a heart attack on the sideline along with the rest of the fan base. I sadly saw the 2nd half of the Clemson game in the second half of the Aday game. Once the D turned it up he couldn't do anything. Now I understand Tua being a freshman not being prepared for that but whats Jalen's excuse? Those of you here who know me know I love my Bama football and go to at least 2/3 games a year. But my god man.......I'm not sure if he thinks he is fast enough to scramble and make it on every third down or what?

And i know most fans are like, "holy crap" we have the 2 best QBs ever....but what I saw in the second half scared me. The D wasn't even turned up and Jalen was back to the same old scramble and loose 15 yards on 3rd and 3....SMH. I'm not saying the sky is falling.....he has time to figure it out. And hey .....SOMETIMES he can scramble and make the 1st....but sometimes it costs you the game. Today it was Aday....lets hope he gets this figured out before September. Just my 2 cents.

You need to make peace with a dual threat QB. Jalen Hurts is the best running QB in the nation. The best. The spring game did not cater to his strength. But he got some nice reps through the air and threw for over 300 yards.

Now, if you want frustration, frustration is watching 2009 Greg McElroy throw for 100 yards, 200 yards a game, missing wide open opportunities to Julio and other WRs in one on one coverage, over and over, only to see him hang on the ball so long they constantly knock him on his butt because he doesn't want to make a mistake, so it ends up being one punt after another. Against SC, at our place, Greg was so bad Ingram had to play QB in the wildcat to exhaustion to pull our bacon out of the fire. A mediocre Tennessee team at our place shut our offense down and it took 2 blocked field goals by you know who. We barely pulled it out offensively, getting shut down all game by an auburn team till the very end and in our biggest game against Texas, Greg didn't pass the ball anywhere near 100 yards. When Greg couldn't get it done through the air, it was always someone else who had to make the difference. When Jalen is having a bad day through the air he still pulled our bacon out of the fire with his feet.

I didn't look at it this way, but you make some valid points.

The main rebuttal I have is that this OC can hopefully put the game in the offenses hands... Instead of Jalen's. There was little attempt to establish a run game yesterday (except for Najee getting some looks) which I'm sure was by design. If/When Daboll decides the OL is ready to push up front, Jalen's job should be much easier. Rarely did Kiffin (and especially Sark) use the RB depth to it's potential.

It's all relative, isn't it?

THIS year we have the SEC OP of the YEAR returning, and he turns 19 in August. I'm excited. And he DOES have to handle the blitz better, BUT under normal rules he'd have made Brown pay for that blitz because the whole left side would have been open for at least a 10 yard gain - but since it was one hand touch for a sack he had to try to check down or throw away - the check down was well covered on one play. The game is still slowing down for him, and he's only going to get better.

Peace be with all...cause it summer and there is no meaningful football til September.....fret...rejoice..listen to AU fans talk they have another CAM...
Tennessee fans cause they wont have all the expectations....UGA fans cause their coach understands now...UF cause they have a QB...Lsu cause they have one of their own coaching now..etc...etc...
Everybody is officially.......UNDFEATED....

Remember the spring game of 2014, Blake Sims at QB and we were waiting on Coker to graduate from FSU? That was an "horrible" spring game from a fan viewpoint.

If memory serves me correctly, Sims took us to the play off and actually was a better passer than most anyone thought possible. It's a spring game. We will know more come Sept. 2

Need to make peace with the fact it was a practice. No game plan. No depth into the playbook. No depth in the lineups on each side. We're talking about practice (start Allen Iverson video now).

To quote Allen Iverson, "we talking practice man." This was nothing more than a glorified scrimmage and I would venture to say that more offensive and defensive packages are shown in a closed scrimmage than what was shown last Saturday.

I know its just practice. But that also means that the D wasn't allowed to play up to there potential. Its easy to make a lovely 40 yard downfield pass with no pressure knowing that you are not going to get hit. which is what both QBs did downfield. Judie to me was the highlight of the game. Knowing we are going to have a real threat on either side of the field is a huge plus. And basically the coaches didn't want to have bodies on the ground risking injury so was almost no run. I understand how Aday works. Lets put on a show and lets all stay healthy. But even when a little pressure came......not an all out blizt, where they are trying to take your head off, just a little..... and he is turning circles in the backfield. He reverted back to bad habits. I know ...i know....He was SEC player of the year....best QB we have had in years...possibly best QB in SEC.....i get it. But Saban preaches good decisions....Maybe i'm just being picky.... We are easly to me an 11 win team. but those kind of mistakes can cost you big in big games.....last year to me was so disappointing ...to come all that way....and then not finish. Its gonna be another great season. We have all the tools and players to get it done. Clean it up....make good decisions....and dominate. RTR!
