I know this should be posted in the fantasy forum, but I request that the moderators keep it here a few days to give most folks an opportunity to read it.

Anyway, you NASCAR fans, I have created another private fantasy race league this season, and hope we will have a even greater turnout this race year.

Last season we had a record 32 race teams join and participate in this FREE league.

If you would like a shot at dethroning our defending League Champion, Porterhouse and his Druid City LugNuts (I stand corrected; it was Porterhouse's Spoilers, which won the Yahoo League), then click on the following link:

http://racing.fantasysports.yahoo.com/auto

You may have to sign up with Yahoo Sports first if you already haven't. Once you have your Yahoo ID and personal password, you can then go to the Fantasy Home page and scroll down to Fantasy Auto Racing and click on the SIGN UP NOW button.

You will then go to the choice: Join a Group

This should take you to the page to register your race team.

You will need the following information in order to register.

Group ID#: 16201
Group Name: rolltideracing
Password: saban

I'm hoping we can generate of competitive field of 45-50 race teams.

Lady owners are welcomed, too!

So who's ready to SHAKE AND BAKE?

We were just discussing the 500 today at work. Anybody notice the time trials turned in by Toyota? Maybe DJ needs to stick around for the whole season. :D

You guys actually didn't think Gibbs would take on Toyota if they couldn't win, did ya?

Go 44! One last year!!!

It is the Spoilers that have the trophy for this league. The Lugnuts are the other team in my garage, but they race in the auction league... but yes, they got a trophy too. :D

I saw where DJ is gonna be joining the broadcast booth after he completes his short run of races. He continues to follow in his father's footsteps.

Forgive me, the Spoilers did spoil the party. That turned into a pretty tight run for 1st and 2nd.

Two racing championships last season! What'd you do, watch the Speed Channel 24 hours a day?

Btw Porter, is there a way one can view last year's final standings?

I forgot that some of you are new members or may not have participate in the Yahoo fantasy auto racing league before, so here's a little summary of how the events work. The week prior to every NASCAR race, you will have an opportunity to select a lineup of drivers for that particular race.

Your goal is to earn more points than other managers by selecting the drivers who perform the best in actual NASCAR racing events. Each week you'll pick a team consisting of two A drivers, four B drivers and two C drivers. Of these drivers you'll select a foursome (one A, two B, and one C) to activate for the race. The drivers are lumped into 3 categories, based on previous racing history and performances

The deadline for picking new drivers for the Daytona 500 is Sunday, Feb 17 at 2:25 pm CST. The deadline to set your active drivers for the race is five minutes before the scheduled start of the race.

The league runs the entire length of the NASCAR season, so this becomes a game of strategy as each owner is allowed to select each driver a set number of times. Once you have reached your limit to start, let's say, Dale Earnhardt Jr., you will not be able to select him again the rest of the season. That's where the strategy comes in.

As I had mentioned earlier, we started the season with 32 owners and actually had around 18 owners that participated in the races throughout the entire season, with the top five owners jockeying for position and point margins all the way to the end.

It would be great to get another good turnout and participation from the group.

Again, the league is FREE and does not require a lot of time researching drivers. Heck, you can even resort to using the ol' Magic 8 Ball should you have trouble picking drivers.

TTT... There are only 4 people signed up. Last season, I think we had about 25 or so. Come on folks...

Actually, we had 32, of which 15-18 played to the very end.

I know the rules and format were new for some. I figured now that folks had a little experience beneath their hoods, that things might really get competitive, not that they weren't. Top spot was not determined until the last two weeks. Enjoyed watching folks jockey for position.

That was more than I thought. I know we had a couple that registered but never really played. We did have a lot play up until the end though... I'd love to see a repeat of that.

I know one thing: the turnout was great and folks were a little imaginative with the team names. I just wish I could have put more rtb user-id's to race teams.

Would have liked to have known who some of those owners were who made late season surges. They paced themselves well. :?

That's what I'm talking about!

The number is up to 13; come on let's shoot for a heck of a field!

Daytona's getting closer.
