to another position. He didn't mention a specific position that I heard but hinted at him moving to several positions. So many saying Tua should start and now people are saying move Jalen to another position. I think we'll hear a lot of that this week.

Why would he do that? What concern is it of his?

Jalen could play well in several positions. If he has good hands, I would think some hybrid slot/TE/H-back type thing would be optimal. also being able to take pitches on sweeps and such would be a plus.

I don't think Hurts would be any good at running back. I've always had his back, but I don't think he has the speed and quickness between the tackles. He's a nightmare one on one, which is why he does so well scrambling after a play doesn't develop, but I just don't see tailback qualities or elite speed like others we have seen and currently have.

He's a smart guy with a lot of ability, but he should stay at quarterback in my eyes. It will give him the best chance to be succesful.

And what do y'all make of this? @JoseyWalesTheOutlaw Is this your Ten Bears?

TenBears,Lone Watie, and myself all agree that #2 should stay at QB (true we're selfish) because that is what is best for Bama. He needs to continue to work as hard as he can because he is the next man up. #2 has all the physical tools but he has a short in his electrical system that prevents him from having the confidence to let it go when needed. .........dead horse just ahead.

Lone Watie........ All I have is a piece of hard rock candy. But it's not for eatin'. It's just for lookin' through and this is what I see about #2

"Except for Alabama, which has won with and without great QB play, most teams desperately need signal callers who can guide their fellow college-aged young men to victory. A consequence is that top programs stockpile as many great QB prospects as they can, which yields two new problems.

  1. How do you get them all to stick around and not transfer?
  2. What do you do when you have great QB play, but the backup is also one of your best players?
Some teams get really creative. The 2017 Iowa State Cyclones didn’t want to relegate backup QB Joel Lanning to being solely a wildcat trigger man, so they taught him to be their starting middle linebacker too. The Houston Cougars used star athlete D’Eriq King at WR until they made him the starting QB, a setup several other teams have tried."

At Penn State, they’re experimenting with the two-QB offense.

Penn State playing 2 QBs at once is more than just a fun gimmick

So, the guy that said he would rather play minor league baseball or run his mouth on ESPN than switch positions so he could stay in the NFL is telling another QB to switch positions? What a joke.

Doc, how do you do this? Bama has so much talent in the other positions that are being talked about here. How does a staff move Jalen to one of those positions? He's #1a/#1b as we go into the fall. A move like that, say to the H-back position puts Jalen behind Jeudy and Marks immediately and likely behind Townsend as well. When Waddle gets on campus at best Jalen is looking at being #4a or #4b (with Townsend.)

I’m saying he doesn’t play exclusively one position. The kid obviously knows the game well enough to move around without being overwhelmed. I expect him to take snaps at QB. I just think he would be better served to also get the ball in different ways.

I can’t see him as a straight up receiver. Wrong skill set and not enough quickness for route running, but TE/H-back type of function that can catch and go the distance? Also block when needed? Yes!!!

I think it would be as natural fit for him outside of QB that you’re going to get.
