Obstruction is on the defense. Interference is on the offense. Being "to the right of the line" actually includes touching any part of the foul line.

@Tidexc1 I'm feeling more for the guy on 1st than I am the runner. That hurt.

Agreed but his pitcher put him in that position more than the runner did.

I noticed that little "toss." Having played 1st, I've got my left foot on the bag and I'm stretching as much as I can to the infield. I don't know if that would have helped. Look at the angle of the throw. (You can see he's inside the line here. Smart play is a low tag at the feet...except for that getting your hand stepped on thing.)

Looks like the throw put him in across the bag??? Maybe.?? If the throw took him across, I’d think he’d be safe. It is hard to tell if the runner is out or in. I think they use these angles so the umps have an out if they make a bad call. You never ever see a camera straight down the foul lines…

He is considered inside the running lane if any part of his foot (feet) are touching any part of the foul line.

Based on how I read the rule, yes. He should have been to the right of the line. To me, it's obstruction.

I know the runner has a right to the bag. Now not the whole bag sure, but if that’s the case I’m finding my biggest toughest guy on the team and having him stand in the middle if the bag everytime there’s a throw

I wouldn’t have called him out, I’m not sure on the angles and exactly how the throw comes in I think I see it then I watch it again and I think I see something else

Yeahhhhhhh. That’s a bad call. Runner should be safe.
