We're getting the benefit of the doubt that we've only lost 8 times since 2007. They also know we have more talent than anyone in the country and that it will eventually break through. BUT, I tend to agree we should have fallen a little. On the other hand, I believe Arkansas is a ton better than anyone else realized that hasn't played them.
If some corrections aren't made soon with our OL, special teams and penalties, we aren't gonna have to worry about rankings. IMO, we are not as good as what many thought this year, maybe a year away.

Agreed; 2012 was supposed to have been a "rebuilding year" like this year, and we kicked tale that year. That spoiled us to think we can keep doing that.
What have those teams ranked lower done to prove they deserve a higher ranking?
We're in the middle of the worst football season I've ever seen: across the board. I'd thought the UF vs UGA game a few years ago was the worst football game I'd ever seen (ranked slightly higher than the 3-2 MSU v Auburn game) until this season.
It's not just Alabama playing bad football; it's the NCAA's FBS as a whole; sans maybe a couple of teams.
I suspect most are comparing this team to previous years and by that metric are saying "we aren't a top 10 team." This team very well may end up out of the top 10 by seasons end.
Which leads me to ask, again. Who in the top 10 deserves to be there? Who isn't in the top 10 that deserves the spot?
The best argument is likely found in Oregon. They've beaten a team that's ranked in the top 25 but they've also lost to a team that wasn't ranked in the top 25 (AZ.) That AZ team went from "also receiving votes" to a [HASHTAG]#10[/HASHTAG] ranking only to lose to an unranked USC team.
Does UGA's win over Mizzou make them more deserving? (That loss to an unranked UofSC team makes you pause, eh?)
Michigan State? A win over Nebraska is enough cache in their win column to put them over Bama?

Like the majority, I'm not a fan of the product we're seeing on the field. However, I'm also leaning towards believing voters are less subjective right now than fans.
Just going by the eye test we may be a tad overrated in the polls. I'd say we probably should be between 11-13. But if we keep winning all of that will handle itself.
I would agree with the middle portion of your comment. "Inexperienced, but loaded." That is the case. Look at Reggie Ragland. He is a prime example of a player that the light has just now come on and he gets it. Jerrell Harris from a couple years back was another. Xavier Dickson is another that is playing lights out here in his final season. Some of these "studs" come around slower than others.
The inexperience is showing badly. A look at the penalties and other mental errors shows that. The talent is carrying them so far and enabling them to overcome most of those mistakes but the last two games showed how easy it is for them to let it get away.
Bama is showing problems in areas we normally do not see and would not expect. But look around. Is there one team out there now that has not shown a weakness? Ms State looks like the best team in the country. But they haven't played us yet. FSU has not been. impressive. Except for the two Mississippi schools, no one has been impressive. Still a lot of football to be played.
