Now don't get me wrong I'm a glad Bama fan that Bama is in!! :bamadance:
But look at UCF won all its games and still looking in!
To me these others conf. are only looking in and will never ever get in. ND will be the only one that will be close to being let in!
This was to be a fair for all, but it just doesn't look like it.

Well... if UCF had played GT as scheduled and whipped their ass and then maybe schedule one other Big Boy and won that game... then they'd have been considered.

The only So-So teams they played, SMU, Navy and Memphis they only won by 1 score... not a very powerhouse schedule.

Any of those other conferences can get in... they just need to schedule 2 or 3 top teams and win. It's not that hard to understand that UCF didn't play any teams that would show that they belonged in consideration. They all know their conference is weak and the only way to compensate for NC consideration would be to take your OOC and add a team like Alabama, OSU, Clemson or Oklahoma and win.

BTW, this wasn't setup to be "fair to all"... it was setup to get the 4 BEST teams into the playoff. NOT the 4 most deserving... there is a difference.

I mean, that's all fine and dandy for UCF, but looking at it as a CFBP reviewer, who did they play?

Florida International (not power 5)
Maryland (Big 10 .. but weak; finished 4-8 this year)
Memphis (not power 5)
Cincinnati (not power 5)
East Carolina (not power 5)
Navy (Navy kept it a 10 point game)
Austin Peay (FCS team)
Southern Methodist (not power 5; only lost by 7)
Connecticut (not power 5)
Temple (not power 5)
South Florida (who finished the season #23, and who lost by 7)
Memphis again (OT; Tigers lost by 7)

Honestly, the only good teams they played were Memphis and USF, and non-power 5 teams (even when good) are not considered comparable to power 5 teams. Also, the power 5 get a bonus in the rankings just for being the power 5, even if they play some garbage teams (see: Alabama). If UCF wins its bowl game (let's hope so), I reckon they'll be in the top 5 of the pre-season polls. That will work wonders when the rankings start up next year, assuming they continue winning. A lot of it depends on where you start the season in the AP/Coaches polls, and the CFBP polls tend to lean the same way as the AP/Coaches polls.

3rd time for Clemson actually. I'm in favor of the not power 5 group to have their own playoff. Why should they just be happy to play a bowl game these days?

Yes Clemson been three time ,also F$U the first year.. I'm sorry about that. XII both time was UOk, B1G was twice tOSt, and one time Mich. St. Pac12 was Oragon and Wash.St.

Never going to go back to 1-A and 1-AA for the non power 5
Never...he conference's get what they get....some exposure...
Can grow if they get a sponsor..... but they get a new years bowl..the best...
Most dont have the millions to compete...they are happy for the most part..
Dont reinvint the system every year for a fluke..

If UCF or any other school like that wants to be taken seriously, at the very least schedule some power 5 schools other than Minnesota or BS like that. Look at Troy, they traveled to both Boise State and LSU and beat LSU's ass.

I think this season will be the catalyst of an expansion in the playoffs (obviously it will be a little later down the line, dont know how iron clad that CFP contract is) or at least the start of it. People haven't stopped whining yet about Bama getting in. I still think the Plus One system is the best, you expand it will make absolutely every single other Bowl Game flat out worthless. You're also going to get a shitty #8 team upsetting a #1 at some point and then #8 will get destroyed in the Semis.

If you ARE going to expand it (which I think is inevitable at this point), cut the season back either one or two games. Conference Champions in the Power 5 (SEC, Pac10, Big10, Big XII, ACC) are automatically in. Committee selects two "at-large" bids and the eighth is the winner of a "play-in" game featuring two "Group of Six" teams that the committee selects, too.

So a schedule would look like this:
- Game 1
- Game 2
- Game 3
- Game 4
- Game 5
- Game 6
- Game 7
- Game 8
- Game 9
- Game 10
- Conference Championship
- Group of Six Play-In (Do it the week after conference title games)
- Quarterfinals (#1 vs. #8 (Group of Six), #2 vs. #7 (at-large), #3 vs. #6 (at-large), #4 vs. #5)
- Semifinals
- Championship

Also, no FCS games. 8 conference games, two non-conference that can be either Power 5, Group of Six or Independent. Independents can only get in by an at-large bid, which may force dumbasses like Notre Dame to join a conference finally).

Just wishful thinking, though.

All conferences are not equal - that's not fair
All teams in a conference are not equal - that's not fair
All teams in a division from a conference are not equal - that's not fair
All schedules are not equal - that's not fair
All conference bowl tie-ins are not equal - that's not fair

Why does the CFP need to be "fair?"

Problem is that leaving out any conference champion is really garbage but locking it to only conference champions leaves out the best team some years. That means at least 6 and probably 8. Past that there is little doubt that there are any teams left who could really win it all.

The entire design of the site is gone on my phone, I can't see any videos, any links and when something is there they have a watch button that doesn't do anything. I have a galaxy fyi

Right....so when is anything "fair " in everyone's eyes...
Bcs was better...but "fair.....not to some....CFP is better at that...but "fair "
Not to some...
Sometimes a little controversy dont hurt nuthin'...
