šŸˆ Is Notre Dame among CFB’s elite? ☘

This day and age, no.

However, due to their long history of success. They are a blue blood of college football.

I think my gripe is much like everyone else that hates ND. They have been catered to by the writers and the powers of CFB and they need to be on the same playing field as everyone else. Back in the 80's-90's when they signed the exclusive NBC TV contract, I understand why they didn't join a conference. Now with conference tv deals, and affiliations, it is not as lucrative to be an independent. CFB needs to tell them, no special considerations will be given, if you are ranked in the top 4 when time comes, you get in, but conference champions, and strength of schedule will play a part.

No. No. No. They typically play several "blue bloods" of college football, but lately these teams have sucked (USC, Stanford). Their partial ACC schedule doesn't help them because the ACC is 1 good team (Clemson) + 14 average to below average teams.

If and when they reach the college football playoffs, we can consider discussion on nd. Under the old system, they made it what one time and was drilled by Bama. One of the paybacks for 1978 when they jumped from number 5 to number 1 over a number 2 ranked Bama. The media loves them. The ONLY WAY I would ever pull for nd is if it helped Bama. Good points @rammerjammer

To hear the analyst They were the best team around when BAMA beat the brakes off of them in ā€˜12. They will probably always get the hype but will probably never live up to it again by winning it all , unless the cards fall JUST RIGHT for them . But they could make the playoffs again . To eventually get bounced out .

I'm waiting to see if someone mentions one word here before I jump in...and I do disagree if anyone chooses to go here.

A game of Hangman, anyone?

Since 1994 against teams that have finished in the top ten in the AP rankings:

Notre Dame is 4-40, straight up, losing by an average of 16 points per game.
They are 11-32-1 against the spread (average of -8 per game.)

That is not elite football.

Kelly: "We've wons 22 consecutive games at home" is what the graphic says.

Clemson, this weekend, who has won 14 straight road games, longest active streak in the FBS. Those 22 games won at home for Notre Dame is second in FBS to Clemson's 27.
