No shock at all. One of the two talking heads last night tried some narrative about the long-standing friendship between Smitty and Stingley and it hurt the latter to cover the former. BS! They've been at their universities for years. This hurts Stingley's future draft stock.

You know, I heard them saying that. I was under the impression Stingley was upset that he wasn't covering Smith more. I know the defensive calls had him switching off Smith a few times and I assumed that's why he was upset. I have never ever heard of any friendship in sports cause a guy not to play hard against an opponent.

A lot of people can be special 1 game, 1 week, 1 month, even 1 season. But if you don't have a foundation and/or consistently high standards in so many ways, eventually it gets exposed. I enjoyed the exposure last night, and frankly all season.

On the other hand, it's really hard to be special for 2,3,4,5 let alone a decade +. It's what makes Saban's run so amazing!

It has been an amazing run for sure. None of the assistants that have left for a head coaching job have been able to reproduce it. When it is all said and done Saban has a core set of values that he communicates continuously and holds the organization accountable to them ALL the time year after year. The program has become a machine just like our coach!!!!
