One thing I have come to appreciate with Saban, he like a big game for game 1 to make his team focus during the off season and get ready for that big game. Put them on Upset Alert... proclaim it from the rafters... make those boys believe it and do something about it.

Let's see, he's 88% of the passing yards, 30% of their rushing yards. Mike Harley is back and so is their #1 back, but like I said, the major offensive weapon they have is King. He's 67% of their offense.

Didn't Miami lose their best DL? How good is their DL coming back? If their Front 7 can't hold up, they have no chance.

I don’t expect more than a few designed runs per half . I think their main priority will be the ACC championship game. Maybe if they have a chance late , they put him out there a little more to try and get the win. Look no further back than DeAndre Francois.

Our defense could end up putting a lot of pressure and force the scrambles . Hopefully our ends won’t over anxious and tum past the QB opening them gaping holes , cause he is more than capable as we all know.

That could make it hard on us but I don’t see them being able to score enough points , even with Bama having a new starting quarterback.

This is the first Bama neutral site opening game in a while that has the real potential for an upset. I know Saban just reloads year after year but he’s definitely got his work cut out for him this time. This season he’s replacing all of the offensive first and second round draft picks who were AA’s and who cleaned up on the national awards. That’s not an easy task even for the GOAT. A young and inexperienced QB, three new starters on the O-line, two new receivers plus a new OC, and O-line Coach doesn’t exactly make for a warm fuzzy feeling for gamblers or rabid fans such as myself. If Young plays up to the hype then Saban’s task won’t be nearly as onerous. But make no mistake, this is the best and most experienced Miami team to take the field in a long time.

At any rate, my original point was this is the first neutral site opening game Bama’s had in a while with upset potential. I stick by that but I’m hoping I’m wrong and it’s another blowout! If so, that will mean Saban reloaded again. And if that’s true then he deserves even more praise than he’s already received. No coach has ever successfully replaced 5 players who were named unanimous AA’s (should have been 6), 1 consensus AA (who should have been the 6th) and 1 additional AA. Players who won the Heisman, Outland, Rimington, Hornung, Biletnikoff, Doak Walker, Dave’s O’Brien, Maxwell and 3/5th’s of the Joe Moore Award! RTR!

We’ll see stats regarding this as the game approaches, but CNS is something like 11 for the last 13 against the spread on opening weekend. Of course 1 of those 2 misses was last year when I bet my entire $750k Bama bucks… hey, if you’re 11 for 12 going in to that game, I liked the odds!
