Huge win in game 1 of this series. Briski was brilliant... 7 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 14 K's, 0 walks. Pupillo had the big hit, a bases clearing double in the 5th (linked above). Winning the series tomorrow would be sweet...

I love it. I gave Murphy a lot of crap after the last couple of years. I'm not saying it's fixed, but we do look better at the plate and dominate in the circle. Hopefully he's got it going and these girls continue to work hard. Roll Tide.

Better defense this year too. He got a good class of girls in and did well in the portal. And the funny part is, Vandagriff hasn't goten going yet. Hate to call it a sophomore slump, not sure that's it. Might be health related based on her stolen base numbers being down, but if/when she gets going, the offense is going to hit another level (not that she's been horrible).

Yeah I didn’t watch, but I listened to about half of it. Got my grandson today and listened during his nap.

This team has a totally different vibe than the last couple of years. I'm beginning to think Murph had some misfit personalities that didn't fit the culture. I love the way this team is playing. My biggest gripe oat this point is some approaches at the plate. Firstly, Vandergriff is trying to pull everything she sees and is stepping in the bucket. It is obvious that ARKY was going to pitch her away all series and she never made the adjustment to drive the ball the other way. If she doesn't make that adjustment teams are going to pitch her fastball riseball away. Secondly, in general this team is taking way too many first pitch fastballs right down the middle. ARK was intent on getting ahead in the count and the best pitches we got to hit all weekend were first pitch strikes then swinging over the top on 0-1 dropballs that were never in the zone. I would like to see a little more aggressive approach at the plate. I was really pleased to see our pitching held against top level talent. Short of a one inning burst in game two they did great. Early sloppy play and errors allowed ARK to see too many pitches and too many trips to the plate. You let a good team like ARK see that many pitches they are eventually going to make you pay.
