One of the insiders posted this and I thought it was interesting enough to share.
  • Pretty sure we have 85 currently on the active roster, although it's not a known fact as Bama does not put it out to the public
  • Minus 1 for Freitag (probably gone) leaves us with 84
  • 84 - 14 seniors = 70 (Don't believe Orr was on scholarship this year but will count him anyway)
  • 70 - 4 juniors = 66 (Cooper, Yelding, Collins and Reed --- just my guesses, could be more)
  • 85 - 66 = 19 (Available number of commits to add to the team and maintain 85 man roster, which is not needed until fall)
  • If the number of signees (27) that the Mods tell us is true, that leaves 8 players that will need to quit, be placed on Medical scholarship or transfer out of the program to have a roster with 85 scholarship players by next fall.
  • Might have missed it by one or two, but either way, that's more than normal the amount of turnover this way than in past years........But as we are always told........THE NUMBERS WILL WORK OUT IN THE END !!!!!!

Yeah, as bad as my spelling is, at least I know better than that. It's from one of the "insiders" that "knows" everything. Except how to spell check. But maybe it was auto corrected for him, just to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I expect there will be a few transfers. The staff will talk with each current player individually about expectations for next year as far as playing time, and this has resulted in some transfers. Some hopefuls may go through spring practice and see the handwriting on the wall.

Tenpenny and maybe Morris and Bateman might be gone after the position battles. I have a feeling a few OL members are gona transfer with all the young talent we have after position battles of course. A few LBs are practice squad players and might see the door. There might be a few secondary people as well that might be gone after position battles. Really it's all about who wins the position battles and certain people who are just beyond being able to get playing time.

please tell me you copied and pasted that.....

Yelding? can't even get one of our player's name' correct.

sheesh :eyeroll:

It's taken eight years for a lot to get Saban right, and we still see the occasional Sabin. I can't tell you how many times I've seen Kiffen.
