🏈 Injury updates post Miss State

Yeah, me too, he may not play for Bama but he is an Alabama kid. I never really like to see someone get hurt, unless their name is Fairley or Pugh.
I know this is not considered proper, BUT - Wilson actually targeted Hump. Lowered his head and "Hit with the crown of his helmet". Just luckily Hump caught it with more of his shoulder and not his face or head. Shows what lack of football experience did for him and I can understand that he was just trying to stop the runner. AND I'm really glad his injury/lack of injury is not something that can be blamed on a Tide player, and there will not be any news coverage and endless interviews with the team. (Don't need any distractions down the stretch)
Hope Wilson is not hurt bad and he recovers soon. (but, as my German grandmother would say" selber schuld" = "Your own Fault")

This is what I said after the game. I hoped he wasn't hurt, but he did lower his helmet. That's why Saban and Kirby spent so much time getting Reuben to stop doing that.

The loss of Minkah for this week is a bummer but TB played well and should do nicely. We need Minkah for next week and the SEC Champ game because even though Auburn is flaming dog crap they will try their best to air it out and so will Florida. Hopefully BOSCAR and Harris are getting good reps to spell Henry after he gets his 200 and 2 TDs.

Just rest Minkah anyway, we are facing a triple option team, something we won't see the rest of the year. Also, we just faced the best QB we will see until playoff time, if we don't screw that up somehow.

I think someone else mentioned it on here, but I hate these triple option teams. I'm more worried about the D Lines knees and getting cut blocks. Last thing we need is A'Shawn or Jaran or any other guys along the defensive front getting sprained knee or worse going into December.

They have been working on that for several weeks now. They were working on it for the MSU game and we saw them try a bunch of cut blocks, only to be stopped. Now MSU did not use them as much on the interior as on the perimeter, against our LB and DBs but failed almost every time.

Another triple option team? Why are we so bad at scheduling these FCS teams lately? Georgia Southern when they were triple option. Western Carolina last year (aka the knee cappers), and now Charleston-Southern.

I remember a few years ago us bringing in teams like UT-Chattanooga who would play straightup and clean and their coach talked about taking his team to the Bryant museum to show them what great college football is.

What happened to scheduling teams and coaches like that?

I'm not sure what the upside to playing a team like this is. Sure they're one of the best in the FCS, but they're still an FCS team and no more credit will be given for beating them than beating the worst team in the FCS. I'd rather play a Power 5 team any day.

Oh please let Jeremy Johnson or White try to air it out against Bama. Play right into our hands.

A couple of things to note here ... in my opinion, of course.

We've got to take into account this is week 12 of the season; next to the last weekend of the regular season for all Power 5 teams. Who, out of that group, would want to schedule a game with Bama? I know I've harped on this for years and we just had Saban comment on this game in the last few days: Alabama has to beg and plead on some of the OOC games. (CSU has been giving themselves up for slaughter in games like this for several years.)

I see a lot of people refer to CSU as a triple option team. That's not the case if you want to compare it to Georgia Southern or what we know as a triple option offense. I don't know how to lable their offense. I've watched them twice this year and seen single back sets that had spread elements and option elements. Now, there was some of what I'd called traditional option plays. There was some no huddle mixed in as well. There's a lot of what I'd call "scat back" type players in the backfield; QB included.

Now, why schedule them?

If you look at how Bama has scheduled OOC teams you'll see elements of one offense mirroring that of an upcoming opponent. Run/option type plays is what we expected from Auburn a year ago at this time. Hell, a few weeks ago. It's good prep for eye discipline. On the other hand ... with Johnson, Auburn isn't running the QB much.

(BTW, with all the #FreeUAB bullshit, I appreciate how CSU is using the monies they've been getting for games like this one. Last year's game against UGA pretty much paid for a new field /turf on their home stadium ... I watched them do that and CSU spared no expense.)

It's no wonder why their coaches and players have such a good sense of humor about getting whipped badly by the SEC bullies. Cha-ching!$!
