🏈 In the spirit of keeping the thread title simple: "Here's a few thoughts going into Saturday"

Lane Kiffin destroying the USC program.

Washington State upsets USC at USC.

Auburn folks claim they are "back" after seeing Wazzu beat USC.

A&M offense makes headline news, Manziel talk nonstop.

No talk about how terrible A&M's defense has been against teams like Sam Houston State and Rice.

All talk about Alabama struggles on offensive line and no talk about Alabama's strong defense.

10erC getting hyped up, their fans start believing. Oregon beats them by 50, they go back to hiding.

Tried my best :confused-smiley-013

If Alabama can sustain slow methodical drives, force A&M to substitute and bring in their 2's they had against Rice and Sam Houston State, then Alabama can win. They do not have the depth I thought they had, which is good news for us. Defense just has to get off on 3rd down.

I liked what I saw out of Tenpenny also versus Virginia Tech. He showed some power with good speed. I expect to see him a bit in this game.

I will make a concerted effort to ignore the pre-game hoopla.

The old saw is that the most improvement that you see in a season is from game one to game two.

aTm has a couple of really tall receivers that concern me.

If Rice can run on them, Bama will certainly be able to run. VT has one of the best front sevens in the country, aTm one of the worst.

If our D maintains discipline, stays on their assignments we will be fine. manziel is most dangerous when a play starts to break down.

The below is for Kiffie and Mack.

:nopity:

Tenpenny was def. wearing a scout team jersey last week.

Do you recall what day last week?

Thursday and Friday were spent on A&M and I don't recall seeing mention of AT running with the scout team. In fact, if I recall correctly on Friday the only players of note we had running A&M roles were the two frosh QB's.

Terry, good thoughts.

Here's a few of mine:

Our running game comes alive this game.

Our defense will shove the football up Johnny's a-hole.

One of our defensive players will probably be ejected for a hit on JF.

Ejection: After an interception when JF is about five yards from the play and chasing one of our back seven. Looks bad because it happens so quickly then the replay shows...

I'd like to see a low 3rd down conversion rate leaving plays just close enough for Sumlin to decide to try to convert on 4th—but fail. Let the frustration seep through the line and just watch how well they keep it together. If we can get Manziel out of his rhythm to the point he's thinking about more than one thing per play? It'll get ugly.

I believe he's got the stones to have a good game—for a quarterback—and still lose.

I hope we'll be able to show him what Tyler Wilson felt like two years ago.

Thursday, he was def. wearing #21 scout team jersey.

-- RB Kenyan Drake, who wore a scout team jersey during last week's practices, was in his normal No. 17 at today's practice. Altee Tenpenny, meanwhile, wore No. 21. That number belongs to Texas A&M RB Tra Carson.

Why would Tenpenny be wearing a different jersey number, one that another player is already wearing?

How do we know Gribble wasn't looking at Henry and thought he was Tenpenny?

If we assume he's running with the scout team and playing the part of Carson it's a logical conclusion to also say he's not featured in our game plan heavily.

To be fair to Gribble he did post pictures of Derrick Henry and correctly identified him as Henry so I would assume he knew that there were two #21s lol I just took it as assuming Drake will likely get the touches that Tenpenny got last week.

From TI a few mins ago.

-RB order in group appeared to be the same as yesterday. Tenpenny again wearing 21.

What he mentioned yesterday.

-Not sure that it means anything, but the order of RBs in group was Yeldon, Hart, Drake (wearing his number 17), Fowler, Henry and Kamara (in his number 26). Freshmen Altee Tenpenny (21) and Tyren Jones (14) were in scout jerseys.

Yah, there's some movement there.

I didn't realize how big of a kid Tra Carson is until just now—6', 227lbs. In my minds eye I've been picturing AT playing Malena's role and it just didn't look right.
