We're on the brink of this being a phrase we hear every day on one of the college football shows. It's something we've already been hearing this season starting in week one and it's been growing since then.
So, let me pose the question to you guys. In your minds eye, what's the best win you've seen to date?
Here's why I'm posing the question. This part of the season, this narrative if you will, had a rewrite last night. If we step back a few weeks we're hearing about the adversity Ohio State faced when they played TCU. Not only were we being told it's a strong game from an OOC standpoint, and SOS standpoint, but we were reminded of the adversity the Buckeyes were facing going against a Patterson led TCU program with Meyer on the sideline.
Today we're still hearing about how Day did in his interim role and how that performance will garner him interviews for head coaching positions. The win against TCU being the highlighted portion of his resume.
But wait.
Ohio State struggles a bit then pulls away from TCU with three quick strikes. It's a great win for the program.
Texas Tech had a kid start his first game last night--two QB's ahead of him out to injury with one of them replacing Duffey for a series (couldn't play on ankle.) And, this Texas Tech team beat TCU last night. (They also beat a ranked Okie State a few weeks ago)
Now, things change as the season progresses...but we are only six weeks removed from seeing this Texas Tech team beaten by Ole Miss--a team fighting for last place in the West.
Penn State is a good win for Ohio State.
Texas A&M is a good win for Clemson, right? d
WVU brings us back to TTU. Are we giving them credit for beating TCU?
"Michigan has pushed their way into the playoff conversation" makes Notre Dame have two notables.
There's a handful more I could name. But this question is to you--which one is the best win so far?
As a side note/question to ponder...
At what point will the win over A&M become a good win? Would a win @UofSC this weekend be enough? What about a win this weekend along with a win the next, @ MSU? (@ Auburn following weekend.)
