šŸˆ I'm tired of the SEC scheduling FCS opponents...especially in November

It's a slow process since these games are scheduled years in advance. Alabama's scheduling of TX, ND, FSU, etc. is a move towards eliminating the FCS teams. With the elimination of FCS teams from FBS schedules, don't be surprised if some of those FCS teams drop football or other sports from their roster for lack of funding.

That would be sad. Saturday afternoon in the fall is more than espn, cbs, fox etc
Its fun to go out and watch classmates on the field... it doesn't matter if its not for a NC or on tv
Its ok if its not the ruin of a fall or weekend if they lose
And yes. Some of C-usa teams are better than power 5 teams @sk33tr see Rutkers Arkansas and others....
But a third of schedule is to much for power 5 schools ( not talking bama here) .. even upgraded schedule bama will have 3 ( of 12). A fourth of schedule And thats 3 or 4 of home 7-8... home games at enormous prices

NCAA needs to take care of that by banning it. FBS has too many teams as it is so there is no reason someone isn't available to play. If it is that hard then maybe we need to reduce the number of games and increase the off weeks in order to allow better scheduling.
The NCAA is comprised of all schools not just the Power 5. The NCAA is made up of representative from FCS schools also.

Therefore why would they decide to do something that was not in the best interest of those schools also.

As it stands the Power five and the TV revenues that are generates also help fund the FCS schools and are a breading ground for coaches.

If those schools don't have teams, it is detrimental in the end to college football as a whole. I am not in favor of power 5 v power 5 only.

I like some of these games.

I like seeing freshmen play and sometimes look more forward to that than the weekly drubbing we place on most teams. I don't want four of them each year., Personally I still wish our bye week was before the iron bowl to promote as much hatred and smack talk as possible in the lead up.

But ESPN needs inventory so we get to play WCU.

some want power 5 teams playing only other power 5 teams

the thing is, there are conference opponents that are no better than a lot of the fcs schools (looking at you, arkansas).

Agree that, "conference opponents are no better than a lot of FCS schools." We have no control over our conference games but we have 100% control over who we schedule out of conference. I can live with Kent St. but UT Martin, Western Carolina and Georgia St...really?

I hear what you are saying, BUT, A LOT if not all of these FCS schools get their budget for the year from just one of these games. Without these games, those programs likely fold and force out another 25-30 kids a shot at going to school. Until the NCAA states and then enforces that all P5 MUST play P5 or play 10 P5 and 2 mid majors, we are likely going to be stuck with playing 1 FCS school a year.

It would also require a change in how the SEC schedules in November. With a schedule closing with LSU, A&M, MSU, and AU I, for one, appreciate a week of rest before the AU game and the SECCG weekend.

As long as G5 teams are included in the playoff committee's decisions I don't see a reason to stop scheduling some of the teams listed in this thread.

Easy for the fans to complain that their favorite teams isn't playing a top 20 team every week but we're not the people that have to prepare and be at your very best mentally or physically ever week to win.

Just get those FCS off the schedule if at all possible. Hell Coach Bryant had Bama playing Furman and Tampa back in the 60's.
