💬 if we could, who on this board is your go to for selecting music at BDS?

The key thing to remember is to find songs that the crowd can participate in, not songs that are simply popular. Think about the music that people participate with: Sweet Caroline, Dixieland Delight, Bohemian Rhapsody, All I Do Is Win, Friends in Low Places, Jump Around.

I was reading this and getting more and more nervous that you were going to throw in YMCA.

As an old guy who likes old country, southern rock, classic rock, Americana/Red Dirt and (surprise) Broadway tunes and 80's funk/rap, I don't think many of my songs would ignite the crowd.

Perhaps some Whiskey Myers snippets (Bury My Bones or Ballad of a Southern Man) might work - they were outstanding at Avondale Brewing this summer. There is some pretty rocking Blackberry Smoke that might be good. Heck, a little portion of Bury Me in Dixie by Riley Green might get the students moving. The student section would sing along with several Tyler Childers tunes. I wore a Turnpike Troubadours t-shirt to the Whiskey Myers show and had my photo taken with groups of college kids, all asking "where'd you get that shirt?" Me - "At a TT concert". Cody Jinks with the Randy Rogers Band as openers are at the old auditorium in Asheville on Saturday. If it wasn't my anniversary I'd road trip up there. Just saw Reckless Kelly at Variety in Atlanta, really good show.

All in all, if newspapers are printing stories about our quandary with proper music, I'm grateful we only have first world problems in football.

RTR and Rock On,

Tim
