šŸˆ If this doesn't make you say no to Dabo? " If this isn’t the cringiest thing you’ve ever seen... 🤢 "

I still find it funny when I read or hear some of my fellow Tide fans say something about Dabo coming home at some point. The truth is Dabo’s not leaving Clemson even if momma calls him home. And why would he? He’s forever set with the Clemson fan base and influential boosters, he’s making as much money as he would in Tuscaloosa, he has total control there, he can recruit the same players as Bama does, etc. Most importantly, his wife and children love Clemson ... and he’s devoted to his local church. In fact, he and his pastor are extremely close friends. Plus, his mentor (GS) has made it clear he would never advise him to do so. No, he’s not Bear Bryant ... and he’s not leaving Clemson. Truth be told ... I’m not too disappointed in that either. Saban looks to be in great shape and 69 today is what 55 was when the Bear roamed the sidelines. So, I’m not concerned much at all with who’s going to replace Saban.

Dang he sounds like a despicable character
Family. Church. Kids. Wife.
Advice from Stallings.

no wonder he is despised here

Way too early prediction: When Coach Saban retires, the moment that information is released, Dabo gets the best contract Clemson can offer and why not? Unprecedented success and keys to the kingdom. He will never coach anywhere else. Just my .02

I know this is dangerous but I have to align with @50+yeartidefan on this one. Dabo is different and quirky but he wins and puts a product on the field that plays at a very high level. Why would we not want that? Had a boss one time tell me there are multiple management styles that gets results. Dabo has gotten results. Now if he indeed has or is cheating that is a whole new thing but I am not aware of that.

I like Dabo, and would be happy to see him leading Bama one day far from now. The video is corny and he is a goofball but it has no bearing on his results as a coach.

Here's where we have tangible proof different/multiple management styles have not worked at Alabama.

Bryant, Perkins, Curry, Stallings, DuBose, Fran, Price, Shula, and now Saban. Three of those have management styles that are very different from the others and very similar to each other; Saban, Stallings, and Bryant. Three of those have been very successful in Tuscaloosa.

Alabama's head coaching job is not a plug and play position. It requires a unique managerial style.

Here's a thought to consider. Urban Meyer. If he couldn't handle the pressure that came with the Florida job do you think he could handle the job in Tuscaloosa? I have serious doubts.

A person handling the job is a different topic to me. As far as the different styles it also assumes equal competencies. Many on that list do not measure up to that standard.

I think Dabo or Meyer would have success at Bama because they are competent. Would Meyer be able to handle that pressure? Likely not but again a different topic in my view.

another way to look atthis...
Perkins...followed a legend ...was tough enough... tough and his own man....
Curry....a GT man...never get the support from the blue bloods... but...
Stallings...bamawas desperate for a BEAR re incarnation....he was it
......got Fulmered by AD.....
Dubose...just wasnt ready ...never was...never ever...thought with wrong head..
.......who the hell thought he was ready...
Fran... really the price of Dubose damage to much...for him to want to deal with
price.....really thought with wrong head...why even include him...
Shula...a savior comes home...just not ready .... experience wise...

Their lack of management..or management style....but all found success....( Price really found stupidity?..but a lot of men find that same stupidity)...
just not sustained success...with their unique management styles...and some with inexperience...certainly different ...but worked....here and there

says to me...Bama is the constant.... Not management styles...

Meyer couldn’t handle the pressure At UF, but he brought them 2 NC’s in 6 years and restored a struggling program. I’d say he was successful. Likely 2 more if not for the greatest coach In college football being in his conference. Whoever replaced CNS will walk in to the largest accumulation of young football talent in existence. So they won’t have to rebuild anything, just keep the train barreling.

Malibu's Most Wanted ... isn't that where the term originated? Or was it Whiteboyz?
That term was coined in prison in the 70s at least as were baggy, ass showing pants. I had a half brother that was a guest of The Great State of Alabama for several stays and dropped the lingo after getting out. The pants were originated by prison prostitutes. I think I had a peek into what prevails today.

Even Les Miles could win with talent left behind...
By Nick...

Bama will be stacked.... high....

HaaaaHaaaaa after the years in the wilderness and the Price fiasco every damn individual on this board would crawl nekkid through broken glass to kiss Dabo’s ( or similar coach) ass to try to get him to Bama. You can blow up like a bullfrog and harumph around the place, clutch the pearls and declare, ā€œWhy I nevah!ā€

You my dear friends have exceedingly short memories.

We have the luxury of saying what we'd take and not take in a coach now, but we all know what it was like before (but our pain has been dulled), hoping for a few four stars in a recruiting cycle. I'll hope Coach Saban stays for another five years, and I'll have to believe he'll make a recommendation on his way out, if not well before. The University ignores him at their peril.

I had to go check our recruiting pre-Saban. We signed one five star and five four stars before Saban arrived, which falls short of this class of seven 5's and 14 4's. Oh, I forgot to mention the one 5 and five 4's were for the three years combined before Saban arrived.

We are incredibly fortunate, and many have short memories.

RTR,

Tim
