Hang on a second and consider this for a second. As members of the ACC, both UNC and NC State brought in more money than Mississippi State in the last reporting cycle. In that '14-'15 report the SEC had five of the top ten, ten in the top 17. Now, bring those two into the SEC?
The revenue increased by roughly 25% when A&M joined the SEC. Even if they only received half of that bump (we'll call it 15%) they are in Oregon's league, Louisville's league, and your Washington's of college football in terms of revenue.
The watered down comment was more associated with their sports programs, not the money they bring in. Texas A&M is well known for deep pockets, but their on field product has been nothing special.
And comparing the ACC schools to Mississippi State validates my point. Do we really want that level of teams added? To me it's not all about the money, it's an overall value. North Carolina may add that, especially on the academic side, but NC State is another lower rung program most likely tossed into the East.
