šŸ“” If ACC boycotts state of NC again, proposed bill would force UNC & NCSt. to leave ACC

Mizzou would be the losers in this, they'll never win the SEC West in football...still can't believe they won the East back to back years. :bolt:

Yes, I'd be all for UNC and NC State coming into the SEC, but 16 teams is alot. Might be the only way to force 9 conference games :D

If I'm Sankey, I'm watching this closely. Swoop in and pick them up, force a 9 game conference football schedule, do away with the cream puff games, boost the basketball footprint even more, etc.

kentucky wouldn't like it so much since they wouldn't be able to dominate the conference like they have been.

but i get what you're saying.

I'm still pissed that the state bowed to the NCAA to make policy changes that have nothing really to do with NCAA athletics. NCAA told North Carolina that if they don't repeal the HB2 bill, they would pull all future sporting events from the entire state. And gave them a deadline date, that was like 10 days or so. And guess what, the state repealed it the day before the deadline. NCAA is swinging a big stick when it directly causes changes to state policy. And I don't like the thought of it. And my thoughts on this matter have nothing to do with HB2, by the way.

Football is where we make our money and I just don't see either of those schools offering much on that front. Definitely basketball, soccer, academics would get a boost, but I feel as if it would continue to water down the conference since Missouri and Texas A&M did that. We need a Florida State type program, good academics with a big football presence and two or three other sports that are above average.

Both schools have too many athletic teams that the SEC doesn't compete in. Men's soccer, lacrosse are the starters. What makes it worse is that these are sports they are good at.

I would love to have UNC and NC State in the SEC. That adds a TV market we don't have as well. TV is where the big bucks reside.

Hang on a second and consider this for a second. As members of the ACC, both UNC and NC State brought in more money than Mississippi State in the last reporting cycle. In that '14-'15 report the SEC had five of the top ten, ten in the top 17. Now, bring those two into the SEC?

The revenue increased by roughly 25% when A&M joined the SEC. Even if they only received half of that bump (we'll call it 15%) they are in Oregon's league, Louisville's league, and your Washington's of college football in terms of revenue.
