🏈 I will get flamed for this ......

Seems like a dominant running game would make the game a hell of a lot easier for Jalen.... JMO

It would make the PA game a lot more effective, for sure.

One thing I liked about McElwain is that he would run a play, often a run play, several times early in the game. Many times. Many, many times, even if the success of that play was negligible at best, just to lull the defense to sleep in order to set up 2 or 3 BIG plays out of that same look later in the game. Hell, even Kiff would do that. Remember the repeated jet sweep?

Now, this is Daboll's 1st year calling plays in college. I think at times he calls brilliant games. But he's still growing into the role. I think we'll see him settle into the role of "strategic chess player" next year. He has a ton of potential, and his players love him.

Sgt...I believe his play chart is much much too large at this point......perhaps a Post-It-Note would be better

I'm of the opinion we're still one of the best 4 teams in the land. And we didn't lose to Iowa or Syracuse... ;)

I've yet to watch the game again, but I suspect when I do I'm gonna see some things that I'm not gonna be too disappointed about.

If you're referring to Iron Bowl, I suggest you drink A LOT if you are looking for things to NOT be too disappointed about.

No clue. Maybe because Jalen isn't 6'5" and there are RPO checks built into every play, thereby making it somewhat easier to see the field post-snap?
With no doubt that's part of the reason especially when it's a six on five with a spy on Jalen. He's looking for that spy like the C is the Mike.

I'm of the opinion he's going to be shocked seeing it's one player in the majority of situations. A missed assignment by one, whiffed block, etc. I also suspect he'll look at those "game plan questions" with a different take as well. (And I'm not saying the coaching is blameless.)

What's the point of being special if goes unknown... Like some of us have said - WHAT IF HE'S SPECIAL?

Can't always clinch your butt hole so tight with the "known" to not explore the unknown.

So much credit to Saban for having the balls to explore it. Had he done it earlier who knows? But thank goodness it wasn't too late.

Just to get this straight.

"I'm going to get flamed for this" is our thread title.

But I will say it anyway. Tua starts next year you heard here first. JMO.
I told you.

Alabama plays Louisville on September 1st.
That's 235 days from now.

So, I didn't see you get flamed.
The Tide hasn't kicked next season off.
I don't see what you've told us other than what you think will happen next fall.

I don't get the need to post things like this as well. People remember the "I told you" posts more than they remember what was said in the first place. In my opinion, it's just not a good look.

But what do I know?

FWIW, it's my opinion all last night has proven is there will be competition for the quarterback position in the spring. That's something that we knew going into last nights game.

SIAP, but I was thinking late last night, as I could not go to sleep at all (gonna be a long damn day...), Jalen started the game, but clearly Tua won the game for us. So...does that mean that Tua is the first freshman QB to win a NC since Holloway in '85?

Hurts will have to overcome the now fact that he could get pulled at any point for Tua to be QB at Bama. Gonna be hard. I expect he may change positions or transfer. I do not want him to go, but he can't be looking over his shoulder all of the time and may not want to play anything other than QB.

Best case scenario is both he and Tua are looking over their shoulder if they play poorly. 2 > 1. It's 2018 baybeeee!
