..me funny.

I'm sure you guys remember the talk of Tubs headed out of the Plains and taking the reigns at Arkansas. Besides some in Arkansas not wanting him, the buyout was probably the biggest reason why there was a lot of angst.

Then when thinking about Petrino getting the job it dawns on me that Tubs has been dealt the 2nd choice card twice. Arkansas, most recently, and then back in the days of "jet-gate" when Lowder was talking Petrino about taking the Auburn job.

Do you think there is going to be a little ill-will felt on the sidelines when those two meet this fall?

Ooh, I think you're right. Tubby has to be feeling a little sting there. ;flame

If Tuberville had a reasonable buyout (2M or even 3) he would be the coach at Arkansas right now....or TAMU...they wanted him as well. Tuberville has connections in both places and would have gone in a heartbeat. Auburn even wanted him gone, but they wanted the buyout money more. They will probably end up regretting it...Tubs is more interested in duck hunting than doing the work needed to keep Auburn at a high level with Saban across the state. A lot of folks said that Saban would not recruit as well at Alabama as he did at LSU because Auburn is a competing in-state program, and the talent is not as deep as it was in LA. The reality is, Saban has found Tubs to be less of a hinderance to him than Texas and TAMU were in LA, and the talent is deep enough to build a solid foundation while cherry picking outside the state. #1 recruiting class does not lie.

If Tubs stays at Auburn another 4 years, they will be below .500 and require years of work to rebuild. A 6 game streak will be just the beginning.

We couldn't go over 10, the Barners would lose count

The piggies and the barners don't like each other anyway. Petrino vs. Tubbs will only make it worse.

I don't know anyone in the SEC who likes the piggies. They have been a problem since joining the SEC...they don't really belong here and would be much better served in the Big 12.

WIth the possible exception of Auburn and MSU, nobody has bragged more about accomplishing less, than Arkansas.

AUBURN: Tommy, you suck. Bobby is better.
TUBERVILLE: I'd like a second opinion.
ARKANSAS: No, really, you suck. Bobby is better.

BAMA NATION: See....
